Neptune’s Quest is an 11 reel, 100 payline slot from WMS that can be played from 50p to £500 a spin on desktop, mobile and tablet devices. Using the Double Money Burst game engine, it’s based on the ancient Roman God of the Sea and comes with a Free Spin Bonus feature where you can get up to 25 free spins.
Visually, Neptune’s Quest looks like a land-based slot as it’s not the best graphically – it does have a certain charm to it. Set in the underwater city of Atlantis, it has an unusual reel layout with a pair of 2×2 reels (so 8 in total) and 3 reels to the right with 6 rows.
Symbols on the reels include A, K, Q and J royals as well as starfish, shells, fish, tridents, water bulls, mermaids and Neptune himself. There’s also the octopus wild which replaces all symbols bar the scatter. The wild and Neptune are the most rewarding symbol giving you 5 times your stake for 5 across a payline.
Neptune’s Quest is all about the Free Spin Bonus feature which can be triggered in more than 1 way – you can match 4 symbols in 1 or both reel columns (the ones on the left) or get 3 scatters on reels 9, 10 and 11. This will give you 1 times your stake and 5 free spins.
If you match 4 symbols in 1 or both reel columns and 3 scatters on reels 9, 10 and 11, you’ll receive 100 times your stake and 20 free spins. If you trigger the feature with matching symbols, these are held in place for the duration of the free spins. In reel column that didn’t have 4 matching symbols, they are replaced with 2×2 larger symbols.
Furthermore, an extended wild appears on reel 11 throughout the feature – you can also see scatters landing on reels 9, 10 and 11 which will reward you with an additional 5 free spins (taking your potential total to 25).
Neptune’s Quest doesn’t have a conventional reel set so it will take some getting used to – in demo mode above! Variance wise it’s in the middle and you can win up to 500 times your stake on every free spin. If you like the game engine, WMS’ Elvis The King Lives is worth playing.
