Lunaris Slot Review
Lunaris a WMS Gaming-powered video slot with 10 reels and 100 paylines – it has a 5×4 reel set to the left with a 5×12 reel set on the right. It uses the Colossal Reels engine such as Spartacus Gladiator of Rome and can be played from as little as 50p a spin to as much as £250 a spin.
The game is based on Lunaris moths with the scene being a forest at night time. You will see the moths light up the reels as their glow transfers from one reel set to another in order to hopefully give you big wins. Lunaris benefits from wilds and feature symbols that transfer over to the Colossal Reels set, a free spins feature and stacked symbols.
Lunaris has a Mystery Symbols feature – look out for the Mystery symbol (has a face on it!) appearing on reels 1, 3 and/or 5 of the main reel set as this will trigger the feature. Each Mystery symbol will display 5, 8, 10, 15 or 20 reveal symbols. These reveal symbols (Lunaris) then are randomly transferred to positions on the Colossal Reel set. Then 1 symbol is chosen (except for the Bonus Caterpillar symbol) to be in the place of the Lunaris Reveal places occupied.
You also have a Free Spins Bonus feature which is played by getting 3 or more Caterpillar Bonus symbols – these only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5 of both reel sets. You can get between 8 and 25 free spins as well as a cash prize ranging between 2 and 25 times your stake – here are the details on what you will receive:
- 3 Caterpillars – 8 free spins plus 2x your stake
- 4 Caterpillars – 12 free spins plus 10x your stake
- 5 Caterpillars – 20 free spins plus 20x your stake
- 6 Caterpillars – 25 free spins plus 25x your stake
Furthermore, 3 or more Caterpillars during the feature which award additional free spins as outlined above. The good thing is that the Mystery Symbols feature applies. Finally, there is a Bonus Guarantee feature in Lunaris (like Raging Rhino). You will certainly win a minimum of 10 times your stake in the Free Spins Bonus feature.
Lunaris is a low to medium variance game to me as I found the wins to be on the smaller side. The maximum win possible is 500 times your stake which isn’t that high. I do like WMS’ Colossal Reels engine but the more volatile Spartacus Gladiator of Rome is much more appealing and rewarding when you do win big. However, Lunaris is a game I intend to play if my balance is low – whether I do or not remains to be seen – there are much slots to choose from which you can check out in the WMS slots section.
