G.R.O.W Theme/Symbols
The G.R.O.W online slot has cartoon style graphics and is set amongst lush green hills. With a wooden cottage next to the reels, the reels appear 10 rows high. With a charming soundtrack playing, symbols include low value strawberries, broccoli, honeycombs and turnips. The high value symbols include trowels, gardening gloves, water spray containers and wheelbarrows.
The latter pays 0.8, 1.4 or 3 times your stake for 3, 4 or 5 in combination. The chilli wild also appears and replaces all symbols bar the Bonus, Golden Bee and G.R.O.W scatter symbols – 3, 4 or 5 in a payline will pay you 1, 1.6 or 4 times your stake respectively. Winning combinations are formed by getting 3 or more matching symbols from left to right starting from reel 1.
Mystery Symbol feature
You’ll also see a question mark which is the mystery symbol. At the start of any spin, the mystery symbols may be replaced with 1 of the other symbols randomly. This is called the Mystery Symbol feature.
Beanstalk Treasure feature
Above the reels you will see 4 treasure chests – each of these contains a cash prize. To win that cash bonus, the corresponding beanstalk must reach the chest. Known as the Beanstalk Treasure feature, beanstalks begin at the bottom of the reels and need to grow 10 times to reach the chest.
If the beanstalk grows more than 10 times, the extra growth is added to the next new beanstalk. The cash prize in the chests are unique and change as you spin the reels. It’s calculated based on the average of your stakes for that chest – Golden Bee symbols will also increase the value by 2 times your stake.
To make the beanstalks grow, you need to land G.R.O.W scatter symbols on the reels – if a G.R.O.W symbol were to land on reels 1, the beanstalk on reel 1 will grow, and so on. If the G.R.O.W symbol lands on reels 2, 3 or 4, it increases the height of the beanstalks adjacent to it. Furthermore, Golden Bee and G.R.O.W symbols act as extra wild symbols. Basically, it can lead to some big cash prizes once you grow the beanstalks!
Free Spins feature
The G.R.O.W slot comes with a Free Spins feature – this is played when you land 3 or more bonus symbols on the reels. You will then get 10 free spins. Landing 3 bonus symbols in the feature will reward you with 10 additional free spins – in the feature, they only appear on the odd-numbered reels (1, 3 and 5).
G.R.O.W Verdict
Whilst the G.R.O.W casino slot looks great, it’s a low variance game. Fun and colourful, you can win a maximum of 150 times your stake if you fill all reel positions with wheelbarrow symbols. If you manage to fill the reels with wilds, you’ll win just 200 times your stake. The biggest wins will come from the Beanstalk Treasure feature where the cash prizes can build up nicely – I’ve seen wins of 5,000 times stake before!
With an RTP of 96.47%, G.R.O.W is a decent slot if you build up the treasure chest prizes. However, it’s not enough in my opinion to make this slot stand out. I would recommend you play Pragmatic Play’s Honey Honey Honey or Play ‘N Go’s Honey Rush which has similar themes.
