Black Knight II Slot Review
Black Knight II is the sequel to the iconic and classic Black Knight which has been around for a while. Powered by WMS Gaming, the second instalment has 5 reels but 40 paylines (10 more than its predecessor). You can play from just 40p a spin to as high as £120 a spin. Like in the first game, it has a medieval Knight theme but now is set on the grounds of the tournament where he fights for honour and glory from his king.
The game is a G+ themed game which means Black Knight II is a free spins based game with a little extra in the feature round (normally locked wilds and re-triggers). As in the first game, there is a Free Spins feature which is triggered by getting 3 or more Black Knight Shield feature symbols on reels 1, 2 and 3. Here you will get 7 free spins with a 1x multiplier.
Like in the original Black Knight slot, if you get a Black Knight wild symbol appearing on reels 2, 3 or 4, it will nudge to fill the entire reel and remain locked in place for the remainder of the Free Spins feature. If you a couple early on, you can expect big wins. So if you’re lucky, you can get 3 locked wild reels which can result in huge wins. You cannot get more free spins which is not ideal –I would of hope they would have allowed this in the second instalment.
It sounds pretty identical to the original but they are some differences. Graphically, Black Knight II is much better which always helps. More importantly, there is an additional row of symbols which means that your win potential is bigger in the Free Spins feature. This is because you can get up to 12 sticky wilds. The first time I played this slot I managed to win £580 from a £4 stake – that’s a nice 145 times my stake.
I really like the original but Black Knight II is bigger and bolder with the maximum win being higher – I found the wins in the Free Spins feature to be bigger overall which is great (due to having an extra row of symbols). Like in the original, wins in the base game aren’t very big but the appeal of the big amounts in the free spins feature is what drives me to play these type of games. If you like high variance, I’d also recommend Viking Vanguard which is also by WMS.
