Luchadora is a 5 reel, 30 payline slot which is powered by Thunderkick. Playable from 10p to £100 a spin on all compatible devices (like laptops, PCs, iOS and Android), it has a Mexican wrestling theme and comes with wrestler wilds and plenty of bonus features.

Visually, Luchadora doesn’t disappoint – as all Thunderkick slots are excellent. Set against a wall full of wrestling posters, symbols on the reels include 4 different coloured peppers and 4 wrestlers – El Toro, El Rayo, El Serpiente and El Pantera. There’s also Lucha Smackdown, Misterioso Campeón (Mysterious Champion) and Luchadora symbols. 5 of the latter will reward you with 250 times your total stake.

In the base game, look out for the first and last positions on reel 1 and 5 – these are indicated with a golden square and are the corner positions. If a wrestler symbol lands on a corner position, all wrestlers of the same colour will transform to wilds and golden square will be removed – this corner will not change other wrestlers to wilds as it’s been claimed. Once the spin ends, the wilds become wrestler symbols again – this is known as the Ring Corner feature. If you’re lucky, you can get various wrestlers in all corners to give you extra wilds on the reels.

Wilds substitute for any other symbol except the Lucha Bonus symbol and Lucha Smackdown symbol. Wilds are only active when a wrestler symbol lands on an unoccupied corner position (as described above).

Look out for the Lucha Bonus symbol, the scatter, which appears on any reel. If you get 3 or more, you will trigger the Lucha Bonus feature. 3 will give you 7 free spins whilst 4 rewards you with 11 free spins. If you get 5, you will receive 15 free spins.

Now, if a wrestler lands in 1 of the 4 corners, it becomes a wild with all instances of that wrestler also becoming wild – the difference from the base game is that that wrestler is wild for the duration of the feature. This means you can play up to 15 free spins with 4 wrestler wilds! If you get all 4 wilds, the Underdog symbol transforms into the higher paying La Luchadora symbol which gives you 250 times your stake for 5.

You should also keep an eye out for the Lucha Smackdown symbol which only appears on reel 5 – if it lands during the base game, it will give you a stake multiplier ranging from 2 to 15 times your total stake or trigger the Lucha Bonus feature with either 7, 11 or 15 free spins.

If you get the Lucha Smackdown symbol during the Lucha Bonus feature, you can get a stake multiplier up to 15 your stake or an extra 2, 3, 5 or 7 free spins. This can happen multiple times to give you plenty of free spins. Furthermore, the Lucha Smackdown symbol can claim a random unclaimed corner and convert a wrestler into a wild. This wild remains for the remaining free spins.

Overall, Luchadora is a great slot – there’s plenty going on but it’s relatively simple once you get spinning. It’s all about the Lucha Bonus feature in my opinion where you can play with 4 extra wilds as well as win stake multipliers. The La Luchadora symbol then comes into play which is the most lucrative.

I found it to be a high variance title with wins of up to 2,000 times your stake on each spin – for that, you need to transform all 4 wrestlers into wilds. If you like Mexican themed slots, Taco Brothers Saving Christmas from ELK Studios or Grim Muerto from Play ‘N Go are highly recommended.
