Djinn Spins feature

The Djinn Spins feature is played when 3 or more cash scatters land on 3 or more different reels during the base or free spins. The triggering cash scatters remain in place on the reels until the feature ends or the Pattern Collect feature is applied on the symbol(s).

Once in, the normal reels are replaced with special reels containing symbols with stake multipliers ranging from 1 to 50 x bet. Special feature symbols and empty spaces can appear. Then 3 free spins are awarded.

Every time a symbol lands on an empty position, the number of free spins resets to 3. These symbols remain in position for the duration of the feature. Once the free spins run out, the value of all stake multipliers are added together and paid out.

Look out for the Upgrade symbol randomly appearing as this activates the Upgrade feature. It adds the Upgrade symbol’s stake multiplier value to all other stake multipliers on the reels. 1 Upgrade symbol can land on each free spin.

In the Djinns Spins game, a pattern of 5 illuminated symbol positions will be randomly generated. Each pattern will display the middle position illuminated and at least 1 empty position.

When all illuminated positions are filled, the Pattern Collect feature will be triggered. The stake multiplier values of the 5 illuminated symbols will be added together into the middle symbol and then doubled. The other symbols are then removed and a new pattern will emerge.

Visually, the Lost City of the Djinn slot has been crafted using Thunderkick’s usual design flair. The soundtrack is immersive and the symbols come with plenty of detail.

In terms of the gameplay, the random 3×3 Massive Mystery symbol can result in big wins. It’s also good that it appears on each single free spins (with up to 20 available). However, the bigger wins will come from the Djinn Spins feature.

Thunderkick refer to them as free spins but essentially it’s a streak respins feature where stake multipliers and various special symbols. The Copy symbol will collect all values from other symbols and add it to itself for a big stake multiplier. The Upgrade symbol will add its stake multiplier to all other symbols.

I found the Pattern Collect feature to be quite hit and miss though. Illuminating 5 symbols of a high value can lead to all these being totalled and doubled. I managed to win just over 200 x my bet a few times. That said, you need plenty of Upgrade and Copy symbols to land in order to win anything substantial.

Lost City of the Djinn offers free spins but it’s all about the streak free spins essentially. With less modifiers than Money Train 2 (Relax Gaming) and Fire in the Hole (Nolimit City), it does come with 25,000 x bet max wins which is big compared to other Thunderkick’s slots.
