Power Joker 5 Reels is a super simple fruit machine from Stake Logic. Played using a 5 reel, 15 payline game engine, it comes with a special Supermeter Mode feature which will set you back extra per spin but in return offers stacked wilds and an improved RTP. Play from 10p to £20 per spin on all devices.

The sounds and visuals are as basic as you’ll find anywhere. Winning combinations are formed by landing 3 matching symbols in a payline. You’ll see cherries, lemons, oranges and plums which pay 40 coins followed by melons and bells which award 80 coins. The best paying symbol is the red 7. Land 3 of these for a 200-coin payout.

Helping to create those winners is the joker which is the game’s wild. This can land on the middle 3 reels only. Land 3 jokers in a line and you’ll be awarded a mystery prize of between 50 and 300 times your total stake.

Whenever you land a winner, the Supermeter Mode feature becomes active – you’ll then be given the choice to collect your winnings from that spin or carry them over into Supermeter Mode. This costs 4x your usual stake. In return for that extra investment, you’ll get wilds that are stacked.

Again, they can only land on reels 2, 3 and 4 but they will fill whole reels when they hit. The RTP improves in Supermeter Mode compared to standard base game play. You can collect at any time during Supermeter Mode play. Keep an eye on your total above the reels.

That’s pretty much it. There are no other feature rounds on offer at all – not a hint of a free spin or pick me round. This is a pure unadulterated fruit machine. The simple gameplay is matched by the sign which is pretty Spartan. There’s a classic Casio keyboard soundtrack and a reassuring thud every time the reels spin.

Simple it may be but we found Power Joker to be be pretty volatile – it offers maximum wins of 1,600 times your stake. We endured some lengthy spells when the cashier consistently headed south. Get on a decent run with the stacked wilds in Supermeter Mode and the coins can quickly build.

A word of warning about autoplay too. You could find yourself dragged into Supermeter Mode even if you’d rather collect. We recommend going manual in this game. Power Joker is a very simple game that will likely appeal to fruit machine lovers only. If you like basic, retro action, that’s just what you’ll find here. If you want free spins and more bonus features, Valkyries of Odin and Midnight Rush by Stake Logic are recommended.
