Are you brave enough to enter a ghoulish graveyard in the dead of night? That’s the back story to Midnight Rush, a 5 reel, 10 payline horror-themed slot from Stake Logic. Featuring the developer’s usual top notch design, it comes with a pick me round as well as multipliers of up to 6x which are applied on every single spin. Available to play across various devices, stakes range from between 10p and £50 per spin.
Just like Lord of Darkness, Stake Logic’s other recently released horror-themed slot, the design in Midnight Rush is superb. A creepy cemetery by Dracula’s castle forms the backdrop to the reels which are flanked by dripping candles and a pair of giant trees. The lower value A to 10 symbols are done in the style of gravestones and work very well.
They’re joined by a mummy that’s escaped from its tomb, a club-wielding skeleton and a dandy Dracula. The most rewarding symbol is the werewolf – land 3, 4 or 5 of these on 1 of the game’s 10 paylines and you’ll pocket 50, 200 or 800 coins. The selection of bones is the wild – these can land in stacked formation on reels 1, 2 and 3 only to fill up 1, 2 or all 3 positions on a reel or reels.
Then there’s a Random Multiplier feature – you’ll notice a multiplier to the top left of the reels. This changes at random every time you spin. Land a winner and the payout is boosted by whatever figure is lit – this can be 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x or 6x.
The other symbol to look out for is the Pick Me scatter – land 3 or more of these on the same spin to trigger the Click Me Bonus feature. Choose 1 of the Pick Me symbols to reveal a cash prize. Keep on picking until you land the collect.
You’ll notice that there aren’t any free spins on offer here which is something of a disappointment – we wouldn’t call it a deal breaker though. The multipliers that land on every base game spin keep the action coming and the Pick Me round is just what you’d expect.
It’s not dripping in features but Midnight Rush is still a very playable slot. The creepy, cartoon design is excellent, complemented by an ideal backing track. Get lucky with the multipliers and Midnight Rush could lead to a coin rush too – with wins of up to 4,800 times your stake!
