The Kangaroo King slot is played on a 5×5 grid but it’s not a grid slot as such as it’s got 15 fixed paylines rather than using something like the Cluster Pays mechanic. All symbols pay from left to right, beginning from reel 1. Only the highest win is paid per line.

Theme – join the Australian animal kingdom

The theme here might seem a little confusing at first, but let’s break it down for you. The reels are set in what looks like the Australian outback. I say that as all of the animals on the reels are from Australia. It’s actually got a boxing theme to it too, with all of the animals donning boxing gloves just to spice up the theme a little.

The visuals are bold and colourful, which is nice to see as the symbols really catch my attention. There’s tumbleweed moving in the background, which seems a little pointless to me but I guess the provider is just trying to set the scene. In terms of the soundtrack, it’s quite tribal. The music reminds me of the start of the 2003 hit song Pretty Green Eyes. Once you connect the 2, you can’t get it out of your head.

Before the bonus round begins, a Kangaroo Wild symbol is placed in the centre of the reels. On each spin, that Wild will move 1 position around the reels.

After testing this slot out for a long time, I grew to like it. The visuals are solid enough and the bonus features aren’t too bad, but it took me a while to get into it. That was in part due to it taking me a while to trigger the Free Spins feature. Although I did enjoy the Kangaroo Boxing Wild feature quite a bit before then.

Once the bonus features hit, I couldn’t help but feel like I was playing Print Studios’ Royal Potato slot or Fat Rabbit from Push Gaming. The bonus features in these 2 slots are very similar to what’s available in the Kangaroo King slot. That’s not a bad thing, of course, they’ve done it well, I just knew I’d seen the idea somewhere before. Hats off to Stakelogic, though, as they’ve produced a nice game with a unique theme.
