It starts with a 6×3 grid and slowly reaches a maximum of 6×6 as adjacent blocker symbols are destroyed when you land a winning combination. The winning symbols are also replaced with new ones in an avalanche motion, leading to consecutive wins on a spin.

Like Valley of Gods by Yggdrasil, the number of winning ways increases on consecutive wins as the blocker symbols are replaced with new symbols. The base game begins with 729 winning ways, which can hit a maximum of 46,656. You can form a winning combination by landing three or more matching symbols on the reels.

The minimum bet per spin in Sands of Eternity is 20p, while the maximum is £40. I would love to have a bet range of 10p to £50, as in Slotmill’s fruit-themed game, Fruit Smash. In addition to the traditional autoplay feature, you can use the Burst Mode to play through a specific number of spins. However, the Autoplay feature is unavailable in the UK.

Sands of Eternity slot has a 96.16% RTP and a high volatility. I have noted a trend of Slotmill setting its RTP slightly above the industry’s average. While their consistency is laudable, I will hope to see an increased RTP in coming releases. The slot’s high volatility increases the risk of the game, which makes you burn through your bankroll faster.

Sands of Eternity is Slotmill’s first shot at the famous Egyptian theme, and honestly, they have done a great job. Although the game’s high volatility and mundane graphics are my drawbacks, there are a lot of positives to hold on to nonetheless. Overall, it is a good game with a lot of potential, but there is still room for improvement.

Slotmill showcases its flexibility and innovative approach to online gaming in the Egyptian-themed Sands of Eternity. Starting on a 6×3 grid with 729 winning ways, it expands as you land straight winning combinations to up to 6×6 and 46656 winning ways. In addition to the exclusive Fast Track and Burst Mode features, the provider employs avalanche reel mechanics, giving great chances of consecutive wins on a single spin. My highlight of the game was when the avalanche blew up the stone blocks to trigger wilds.

However, I didn’t have as much fun playing the Sands of Eternity slot game as I did with other titles from Slotmill. I feel the reason lies in the somewhat confusing gameplay and boring graphics. The provider’s trademark vibrant feel and engaging experience were missing from this slot.
