Samba Carnival is powered by Play ‘N Go and available to play on desktop, mobile and tablet devices. With 5 reels and 15 paylines, you can play from as little as 15p a spin to as much as £75 a spin. The game was launched just in time for the carnival in Rio with plenty of rhythm on the reels.
The game is a colourful parade of performers with feathered females, fresh fruit, fortune and fireworks (according to Play ‘N Go). There are 9 different symbols in Samba Carnival with 1 bonus scatter (3 variations), 1 wild symbol (4 variations), 3 high paying symbols and 4 low paying symbols.
In terms of the high paying symbols, the purple feathered female is the most valuable with a cool 2,500 coins available if you manage to get 5 on a payline.
In the base game, look out for the musical maracas as they are the wild symbol – the wild substitutes for any other symbol except for the scatter to help with winning combinations. Now, there are 4 wilds with 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x on them – for example, if you get a win with a 5x wild on it, your win will be subject to a 5x multiplier.
There is one bonus feature known as the Bongo Bonus feature which is played when you get 3 drum symbols appear anywhere across the reels simultaneously. You then get to pick 1 of the 3 sets of drums to win up to 150 times your stake – pretty standard feature which can be found in other Play ‘N Go titles.
Unfortunately, there is no free spins feature which is the only thing that lets Samba Carnival down. Saying that, it’s a medium variance title with the bigger wins coming in the base game – that’s due to the multiplier wilds. If you manage to get a winning combination with a couple of wild symbols, your wins can be huge.
I like the theme but it does remind me a little of IGT’s Samba de Frutas in appearance. However, I would rather stick to other Play ‘N Go games such as Book of Dead (playable only on mobile/tablet devices), Leprechaun Goes Egypt and Eye of the Kraken.
