Most sports-themed slots are a let-down but this game has a couple of superb bonus features and the ability to win big. When it comes to graphics, it looks great with symbols on the reels including cups, footballs, boots, gloves and shirts – it’s not the best looking game produced by NetEnt but don’t let that put you off. When it comes to bonus features, you have the Penalty Shootout Bonus feature which is triggered by getting 3 or more Bonus symbols anywhere on the reels. This is a pick and click penalty shootout game with 5 rounds – each round consists of 2 parts.

Firstly, you pick 1 of the 4 positions in the goal to try and score – then you act as a goalkeeper and pick 1 of the 4 positions to try and save your opponent’s shot. If you score, your team’s score will increase by 1 (with a cash prize awarded).

If you save your opponent’s shot, a win multiplier is awarded – if you don’t save your opponent’s shot, their score increases by 1. There are 5 rounds with an additional round played if the teams are level – this continues until 1 team wins.

Now, the number of Bonus symbols used to trigger the feature is important – 3 will give you a multiplier between 1x and 12x whilst 4 Bonus symbols will give you a multiplier between 3x and 14x. If you managed to trigger the feature with 5 Bonus symbols, the multiplier will be between 5x and 16x!

There is also a Free Spins feature which is played when 3 or more Cup scatter symbols appear anywhere on the 3 middle reels – you are taken to a Free Spins Tournament which is the same as the knockout stage in a football tournament.

Each free spins round is a separate football game – you will make it to the next round if you win the match therefore reactivating the Free Spins.
