Theme

Graphically, the Beauty & the Beast is what you’d expect from an Yggdrasil Gaming produced game as the visuals are superb. With an enchanting theatre as its backdrop, you have 6 low value crystals on the reels as well as Beauty and the Beast.

They both can land 2 symbols high and give you 250 coins for 5 on a payline. The wild symbol, a broken mirror, substitutes for all other symbols except the scatter.

Bonus Features

In the base game, you can benefit from randomly triggered bonus features which are represented by 3 servant characters. They are as follows:

• Chef feature: the 3 middle reels are synchronised to show the same combination of 3 symbols for 1 spin.
• Butler feature: 1 of the reels nudges 1 step up or down if the winning combination can be bettered. If this nudge will trigger the Free Spins feature, it will do so. If the Chef is active with the Butler, all synced reels nudge as 1.
• Maid feature: between 2 and 4 wild symbols are randomly added to the reels.

Now, there’s a Golden Bet feature which is optional. You can activate and deactivate it at any time during the base game. Activating it will cost you more per spin but it gives you 3 options:

• Boost: costing 5 coins extra per spin, the Free Spins feature gives you 2 feature picks instead of 1.
• Nudge: costing 15 coins extra per spin, the reels will nudge up down 1 place if you get 2 to 4 free spins symbols so you can trigger the Free Spins feature more easily.
• Boost & Nudge: costs 30 coins extra per spin, you get both the Boost and Nudge options whilst you spin the reels.

The Golden Bet options are important for the Free Spins feature which is played when you get 3 or more Free Spin symbols anywhere on the reels. If you get 3 scatters, you will receive 10 free spins whilst if you get 4, you’ll receive 10 free spins plus 1,000 coins. If you get 5, you’ll receive 10 free spins and 5,000 coins.

Once in, you will choose 1 of the 3 modifiers for the free spins (Chef, Butler or Maid) if you haven’t activated the Golden Bet feature. If you have the Golden Bet feature activated, you get to choose 2 modifiers. I personally would go for Maid and Butler to get up to 4 wilds plus nudges to get the best winning combos.

During the feature, if you get 3 or more scatters, you will retrigger the feature which means the free spins counter resets to 10. Furthermore, you get to choose an extra servant (i.e. Butler). You can retrigger the feature 2 times or until you have all 3 servants in play.

The Beauty & The Beast slot is an entertaining title from Yggdrasil Gaming that looks superb and some great bonus features. The variance is low to medium. It’s low when the Golden Bet feature is off and medium when the Golden Bet feature is activated.

Summary
