The design here is rather good. An alchemist’s lab full of moving machinery forms the backdrop to the action. On the 5×5 reel grid you’ll find test tubes, jars of potion, scales, amulets, a pestle and mortar and a robot assistant. The best paying symbol is the bearded scientist who pays 2, 10 or 50 times your stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 in combination.
Those winners are created by landing 3 or more matching symbols horizontally or vertically. After a winning combination hits, the successful symbols are removed and new ones drop in and replace them. These cascades continue until no new winner lands. There are a couple of special extras on offer in Wildchemy.
Magical Portals feature – the top left and bottom right positions on the reels are special portals. If the same symbols match in both portals on the same spin, they, and all other instances of that symbol anywhere else on the reels, turn wild. A new payout calculation is made with the extra wilds in position.
Free Spins feature – this is triggered in a slightly unusual manner. Scatters (the purple potion bottles) are collected in each sequence of cascades. A ‘plus’ pattern surrounding the scatters also explodes if there’s a scatter at its edge or corner. Collect 4 scatters during a single cascade and you’ll trigger the feature and with it 4 free spins. Each extra scatter adds another 4 free spins to your tally.

This magical adventure is well put together. The visuals are excellent, as is the fantastical backing track. The cascading reels keep things moving along at a decent enough lick to keep things interesting.
