The Templar Tumble slot is played on a 6 reel, 7 row grid. At the start of each spin, a number of positions are blocked. This means that the number of ways to create a winner change with each spin and cascade.

Winners are created by landing matching symbols anywhere on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1. The more unlocked positions the more ways to win. If everything opens up, you’ll have 117,649 ways to win active. It is not a Megaways slot though even though it is quite similar.

You can start this mediaeval quest at stake levels that start at 10p per spin and rise to a maximum of £50 per spin. Theme – head back to the Middle Ages

The visuals in Templar Tumble are superbly done. With a medieval theme, the reels look as if they’re set in a magnificent mediaeval cathedral like Lincoln, Chartres or Cologne. They’re watched over by statues of a Templar Knight and a dragon.

The Knights Templar were a mediaeval military order who were involved in a series of battles in the Holy Land during the Crusades of the middle ages. Set in the Middle Ages, there is an orchestral soundtrack that accompanies the action and fits the mediaeval theme perfectly. You’ll hear a resounding thud as the stone symbols drop onto the grid with each spin and tumble. The design here is excellent.

On the stone symbol blocks, you’ll find lower value gems, a tree of life, heraldic emblems and the Templars’ famous red cross motif. The most rewarding symbol is the knight’s helmet which awards 0.6, 1, 1.6 or 2 x your total stake if you land 3, 4, 5 or 6 in combination. There’s also a wild which substitutes for all symbols on the reels.

Tumbling Reels feature

As the name suggests, the game uses a Tumbling Reels feature/mechanic. Each time you land a winning combination, the winning symbols are removed from the grid. Then new ones drop down and replace them.

Each tumble also removes some of the blockers, adding symbols. This increases the number of ways you can create a winning combination. Get on a roll to play with 117,649 ways to win in total.

Mystery Reveal feature

The Mystery Reveal feature is triggered if a wild symbol drops onto the grid on reels 2 through 6. Between 3 and 8 blocker symbols will then transform into mystery symbols. These symbols remain on the grid until there’s a winless tumble. Then, 1 of 2 things can happen:

• They can all transform into the same matching symbol and a new payout calculation is made.
• They can all turn into coins, each of which delivers a prize of between 1 and 1,000 x your total stake.

Free Spins feature

The Free Spins feature triggers when you have managed to unlock all the blocked symbols on the grid. You’ll then go on to play 6 free spins. The free spins play out on the full 6×7 grid with no blockers in place. That means you’ll have the maximum 117,649 ways to win active throughout the feature.

Land a wild symbol during the free spins and between 3 and 6 standard symbols will turn into mystery symbols. Once again, these can turn into the same matching symbol or a coin which can deliver a cash prize. Coins can also add extra free spins to your total.

Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to automatically trigger the Free Spins feature. This will set you back 80 x your total stake. As a result, the RTP increases to 96.92%. This is available in most territories but not the UK unfortunately.
