Theme – retro Christmas action

The theme in the Santa’s Stack Dream Drop slot is very retro and is exactly like the previous Santa’s Stack slot. This one’s simply been given the Dream Drop treatment with everything else kept in order.

Set in front of a cobbled street in front of some old-looking buildings, the 8×8 grid is very colourful and really stands out. You can listen to the festive traffic in the background with bells chiming and the sound of cars pulling away and people chatting. The odd ‘Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas’ and ‘Happy Holidays’ can be heard too, which adds to the overall theme.

The soundtrack is rather claiming to be honest, and the sound effects are pretty cool, albeit a little annoying after a while with every spin of the reels. In the Settings menu, you can turn these effects off and just keep the music, which is great to see. I’d advise doing that.

The symbols on the grid have a retro look to them and look like something you’d see in video games from the 80s. The lower-paying symbols are blue, green and red lights. These are joined by the higher-paying reindeer, elf, Mrs Claus and Santa himself. The Santa symbol is the most lucrative, paying from 1x for 5 in a cluster up to 1,000 x for 60+.

If you’re a fan of the retro feel, you’ll probably love this game. The Santa’s Stack Dream Drop slot is obviously all about Christmas, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it all year round. Coming back to this one, I liked the Re-Spin feature where Mystery symbols can build up to reveal 1 huge cluster at the very end. It really is a bit like a Christmas present in a way – you don’t know what symbol is going to be revealed and that makes it exciting.

If you land the Dream Drop Bonus, the chances are that the jackpot you’ll get is going to be 1 of the lower-paying ones. However, I did manage to trigger this feature quite a few times during testing, so you might get lucky. Away from the Mega jackpot, there is a nice max win of 20,000 x your stake available, so it really does offer some generous payouts.
