Marching Re-Spins feature

The Marching Re-Spins feature is triggered whenever you land a full stack of legionnaire symbols. The stack of soldiers march 1 reel to the left and a re-spin is awarded. If any new stacks of legionaries land, they also turn into Marching Stacks. The re-spins continue until all the stacks of legionaries have marched off the leftmost reel.

Nudge feature

Land partial stacks of legionaries on 2 or more reels and you’ll activate the Nudge feature. The partial stacks will nudge so that they fill the whole of their reels and become Marching Stacks. The Marching Re-Spins feature then follow. It’s not possible to get a nudge if there’s a full Marching Stack already on the reels.

Free Spins feature

Whenever a Marching Stack of legionaries march off reel 1 they add to a bonus meter. Complete all 5 levels of the meter and you’ll trigger the Free Spins feature. Things get a little different here.

The free spins begin in ‘Wave 1’ with a single Marching Stack added to reel 5. Look out here for horns which can appear on reel 5. When these symbols land, they’re collected in a meter. We’ve all taken plenty of virtual trips to ancient Rome but I haven’t played anything quite like the Marching Legions slot. The design is unique as to the bonus features. The visuals here have the look of a video or social media game rather than a traditional slot. It reminds me of Relax Gaming’s Snake Arena.

In terms of the gameplay, the bonus features also deliver something fresh. The game focuses on the legionnaire symbol which will give you walking stacked symbols in the base game. If you collect enough horns in the free spins, you will see more reels with marching stacks.

It’s also worth reiterating that the 98.12% RTP is among the best you’ll see anywhere. And with max wins of 10,000 x your total bet per spin or free spin, Marching Legions is a slot worth considering.

That said, it focuses so much on the legionnaire symbol that it will frustrate you most of the time. Furthermore, the extremely high RTP rate will often exclude the game from bonus wagering requirements at slot sites in the UK.
