There’s a classical age feel to the design in Jupiter’s Choice. The action takes place within a marble columned building. There you’ll find a selection of Roman era symbols including a bull, a ram, a gold ring, a vase and a bunch of grapes. The eagle is the best paying symbol, awarding 25 times your total stake if you manage to land 6 of them on adjacent reels. There’s also a wild.
An animated bearded, slightly deranged looking Jupiter watches over proceedings. He can come to life and in the process trigger the Jupiter’s Choice feature which offers you 2 upgrades:
- Clumped Reels – on any spin, Jupiter can awaken and clone 2 reels so they display matching symbols and make it a little easier to create a winning combination.
- Symbol Removal – Jupiter can remove all of the lower value symbols (i.e. A, K, Q and J royals) from the reels.
Then there is the Bonus feature which is triggered if Jupiter locks together 3 reels. You’ll then spin the bonus wheel. Prizes on offer here are equal to 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 times your stake. You could also win 5, 10, 20 or 50 free spins. If you land the free spin, you’ll play them on a new set of reels. On each free spin, Jupiter will link between 3 and 6 reels to give your winning chances a big leg up.
There’s isn’t actually much of the way of choice on offer in Jupiter’s Choice. You get what you’re given here. The best way to land a decent winner comes from landing a 6-symbol combo. That’s very tricky to do in the base game given that Jupiter can clone just 2 reels.
The free spins round is your best bet thanks to the extra cloned symbols. It’s not the easiest to land though. The variance here is in the medium range with maximum potential payouts of 1,600 times your stake per free spin. We like the ancient theme but we weren’t totally bowled over by Jupiter’s Choice.
It’s not a bad game, it doesn’t quite get into the Pantheon though. I would prefer to play Relax Gaming’s Temple Tumble MegaWays as you can win up to 7,767 times your stake to on each free spin.
