Theme – an adventure inside a spectacular factory
Theme: Steampunk
High Value Symbol: Robot
Compatibility: Mobile, Tablet, Desktop

Professor Clank’s Combinator slot is all about a science factory and discovering the secrets that might be inside. The reels are set inside the factory, with numerous gadgets and levers on either side of the reels.
Straight away I’m excited to see what’s on offer as I’m greeted with bright colours, a fantastic setting, and a soundtrack that sounds like it’s from a feature film. ReelPlay has done a great job here.
I like how the cascades work while enjoying the unique and quirky Steampunk theme. Not only that but there’s so much going on with the symbols when modifiers come into play, it’s really eye-catching stuff and another nod of appreciation in the direction of the designer here.
On the reels, the usual A-9 royals are displayed. These are joined by a spanner, some night vision goggles, a gun that looks like a smaller version of the shrinking machine in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, and a robot. The robot is the most rewarding symbol, paying 1.25, 2.5, 5 or 10 x your stake for 3, 4, 5 or 6 in combination respectively.
The Professor himself is the game’s Wild, and it substitutes for all symbols except Scatter and will not appear on columns 1 or 6.

Professor Clank’s Combinator Bonus Features
There are 7 bonus features in Professor Clank’s Combinator slot. From Explosions and Morphs to Boosters and Bonus Respins, there’s a hell of a lot going on here. Carry on reading to understand how each bonus feature works.
Explosions, Morphs, and Boosters
At the beginning of a game, 3 symbols are dropped into each of the 6 columns. There are a few things that can happen after this to get things going. They are:
Feature | Info |
Explosions | When a winner lands, all symbols not part of the win are removed except Scatter symbols. The remaining symbols will fall to their lowest point on that column. |
Morphs | If there is more than 1 standard symbol type showing after the Explosions, they are all transformed into the highest paying symbol of those left. |
Boosters | If previous winning symbols are no longer in a winning position after the Explosions and Morphs, extra matching ones will be added to 1 or more surrounding columns to turn it into a winning symbol. |
Once all of these features play out, you’ve got the Drops feature. A new symbol will be dropped onto the top of each column with 5 or fewer symbols showing. Here are some other important aspects of this feature that are important to understand:
- Any dropped standard symbol that doesn’t match or substitute for the current paying symbol is exploded.
- Any that does match but doesn’t drop into a paying position is exploded. If they do land into a paying position, it is kept.
- If the total win value is higher than the previous Drop then an extra Drop is triggered. This is prior to any Morphs or Boosters in the base game if it’s the first drop.
- New drops cannot be activated if every column has 5 symbols. Once no more Drops are possible, symbol wins are paid
Scatter symbols are always kept
Bonus Respins feature

Land 5 or more Scatter symbols in the base game to trigger the Bonus Respins feature. It will only start after all base game Drops are complete.
All non-scatter symbols are exploded, and the remaining symbols will drop to the bottom of the columns. You will start will 3 respins initially, and a new Scatter landing will always reset it back to 3. Scatters are held too so they won’t disappear. Every column that has less than 5 symbols showing will get a new symbol dropped onto the top of the column.
Once the respins are over, each Scatter awards a prize of a bonus prize, which could include:
- Platinum bonus prize = 2,000 x bet
- Gold bonus prize = 250 x bet
- Silver bonus prize = 50 x bet
- Bronze bonus prize = 10 x bet
- Non-bonus prizes = 1-100 x bet
Symbol payouts shown in the paytable are not in play during the Bonus Respins feature
Gamble feature

At the end of the respins in Professor Clank’s Combinator slot, you get the opportunity in most territories to gamble your winnings up to 10 x the total win. You need to land in the green to win. Here are the different multiplier levels:
Win Multiplier | Chance of Winning |
1.25x | 4 in 5 chance |
1.5x | 2 in 3 chance |
2x | 1 in 2 chance |
2.5x | 2 in 5 chance |
3x | 1 in 3 chance |
4x | 1 in 4 chance |
5x | 1 in 5 chance |
10x | 1 in 10 chance |
The maximum win is capped in the Gamble feature at 10,000 x bet
Buy bonus feature
You can buy the bonus in most territories for 50 x your stake. This will result in 5 or more Scatters landing to trigger the bonus feature. But please note that this is not available in the UK.
Professor Clank’s Combinator Review Summary – a scientific delight
Professor Clank’s Combinator slot game is a little bit niche as the theme may only appeal to certain players. However, with so much going on with the modifiers and the bonus features, it’s worth trying even if you prefer to steer clear of Steampunk themed slots. Not only is the max win potential healthy, but there are some unique parts to this game that will appeal to many.
ReelPlay has done a great job on the visuals and the audio, which is half the battle won if you’re looking to be tempted by a new slot. Chuck the bonus features in too and you’ve got a very good slot indeed.
The Bonus Respins are a fun part of the gameplay, and if you’ve played Nunchucks Chicken from Skywind before, you’ll notice that it’s pretty similar. The bonuses up to 2,000 x to the left of the reels are a nice addition too.
Overall, it’s a very well thought out game and you won’t find any out there that play exactly the same. If you’re still unsure whether it’s one for you, give our free demo a try before deciding if you want to use your own funds or not.
If you want more Respins action, check out Hacksaw Gaming’s Itero slot, which has a unique EchoSpins feature with multipliers up to 10x. Alternatively, Dr Toonz from Play’n GO is an option from a scientific point of view. It comes with 22,000 x max wins as well as up to 262,144 ways to win.
- 10,000 x max win
- Great bonus features
- Low volatility
- Low paying symbols
