Theme – beware of the big bad wolf

Theme: Farm

High Value Symbol: Farmer/Wild

Compatibility: Mobile, Tablet, Desktop

Sheep Gone Wild really packs in a whole bunch of mixed farming metaphors. The slot opens to sleeping sheep which conjures up the idea of counting sheep. Once launched, however, we find a hungry wolf and various other animals. It’s a little bit Red Riding Hood, a little bit Shaun the Sheep. In either case, the farm theme works well. Sheep Gone Wild looks fantastic and the banjo soundtrack adds to the quaint vibe.

The reels hang against a farm backdrop and, on then, low symbols are represented by 10 to Ace royals. Higher value symbols include a hen, a cat, a pig and a cow. The Farmer is the highest paying symbol, rewarding you with 200 x your bet for a 5 of a kind combination.

Sheep Gone Wild comes complete with a sheep Wild symbol which substitutes for all regular symbols to create winning combinations. The Wild also pays out 200 x your stake if 5 land at once. The Bonus Scatter is represented by the wolf and you need to land 3 or more of these to trigger the Wolf Spins round.

Sheep Gone Wild Bonus Features

Sheep Gone Wild comes with 2 main bonus features, as well as a Bonus Buy feature for players outside the UK. The Sheep Snatch bonus can be picked up in the base game, whilst the Wolf Spins round comes complete with a pick-me bonus game too.

Sheep Snatch Feature

On any base game spin, a sheep may randomly burst onto the reels. You simply need to click the sheep to seize a modifier bonus. The bonus with be either:

  • All occurrences of one low paying symbol transform into wilds
  • A win multiplier of 2 or 3 x

Up to 3 sheep can appear on a single spin. If more than one sheep reveals a multiplier, their values will combine. However, it’s not possible for the multiplier to rise above 8 x.

Wolf Spins Feature

sheep-gone-wild-slot-pick-bonus

Land 3 or more wolf scatters anywhere on the reels, and you trigger the Wolf Spins feature. You begin with 7 free spins, but you’re promptly taken to a new screen where extra spins are up for grabs.

On the new screen, pick from 15 sheep to gain extra prizes. How many picks you get is equal to the number of scatters collected to trigger the feature. Of the 15 sheep, there are:

  • 5 sheep which will reveal a low-paying symbol, which will transform into a wild every time it lands on the reels during free spins.
  • 4 sheep which will award a win multiplier. 2 of those sheep carry a 2 x multiplier, while the other 2 carry a 3 x multiplier. Multipliers can stack together until they are worth up to 10 x.
  • 6 sheep which will award extra spins. 2 of those sheep will award +2 bonus spins, 2 more will award +3 bonus spins, and 2 others will award +5 bonus spins.

If you land another scatter on the reels during free spins, you get a choose another sheep. The extra prize is then added to your remaining spins.

Bonus Buy Feature

In certain jurisdictions, the Bonus Buy feature allows you to pay your way into either bonus features. This is not available to UK players, however. If you’re playing from somewhere else, you have 2 options.

8 x bet Entry to Sheep Snatch with at least 1 sheep appearing.
100 x bet Entry into Wolf Spins with at least 7 free spins and 3 bonus picks

Originality

First of all, the Sheep Gone Wild slot is visually impressive. The symbols are detailed, the animations are great, and we love the extra screens you glimpse during both bonus features. As far as themes go, Red Tiger Gaming have done a great job of ensuring there’s a real narrative with welcoming characters. Rabbit Garden, by Pragmatic Play, has a similar feel and we loved that too.

When it comes to gameplay, the features are simple but rewarding. If you manage to grab more than one sheep in the Sheep Snatch feature, wins can stack up. Land a farmer combination and 3 sheep and you can win up to 1,600 x your bet with one win the base game alone.

The main aim is to enter the Wolf Spins round. Here your bonus picks are important. Win multipliers are obviously the most rewarding, but when these are combined with wilds and extra spins, things really get going. This gives you the best chance at getting close to those 13,409.2 x stake max wins.

Overall, the Sheep Gone Wild slot is fun and boasts a decent win potential. Though the farmyard doesn’t quite make it an Easter slot, we’re sure it’ll be popular.

Head to another farm in the Fat Rabbit slot by Push Gaming. Though it has slightly lower max wins of 10,223 x your bet, it boasts an RTP of 96.45% and expanding wilds that can lead to big wins. You can also explore legendary mediaeval times and spin the reels in Relax Gaming’s Giants & Sheep.

Pros
  • 13,409.2 x max wins
  • Unique bonus features
  • Superb graphics and theme
Cons
  • Could include more bonus features
