The visuals in Ra’s Legend are excellent – set within a pair of ornately decorated pillars, the reels include A to 10 playing cards plus 4 Egyptian hieroglyph symbols. The best of these is the Eye of Horus which awards 120, 600 or 1,200 coins if you land 3, 4 or 5 on a payline. The mighty Ra is the game’s wild – it can land in a stacked formation and also awards payouts of 120, 600 or 1,200 coins. This wild is also central to the first feature we’ll look at.
Sacred Reels feature – if a stacked wild lands, it can become a sacred wild and in the process, become locked. This will be for a set number of spins which can be anything up to 8.
Reels of Gold feature – on certain spins, reels selected at random by Ra will feature only the higher value golden hieroglyph symbols.
Wheel Bonus feature – land 3 wheel bonus symbols to trigger this round. Spin the wheel to win cash prizes of up to 1,000 times your stake.
House of Ra Bonus feature – you’ll need to land 3 House of Ra symbols to enter the golden pyramid. Keep making picks – the higher up the pyramid you make it, the bigger the rewards on offer. Prizes of up to 800 times your stake are on offer here.
You’ll notice that there aren’t any free spins here – that shouldn’t be a deal breaker given the other bonus features on offer. Like many Red Tiger Gaming slots, the main features are not the easiest to trigger. We’d put the variance in the medium to high range.
One thing you can expect from this developer is plenty of quality design – the visuals are nicely done and there’s a haunting, Arabian style backing track playing in the background. This trip to the land of the Pharaohs doesn’t quite live up to its legendary billing.
With its high-spec design and nice range of features, Ra’s Legend still a very playable game though and certainly worth a spin if you like all things ancient. Alternatively, Novomatic’s Book of Ra Deluxe is the benchmark for ancient Egyptian-themed offerings.
