Pirates’ Plenty: Battle for Gold: Demo
There’s a shiny, HD look to the design in Pirates’ Plenty: Battle for Gold. The setting is the bridge of a pirate ship that’s filled with gold and treasure. On the reels you’ll find heart, diamond, club and spade gold coins as well as bottles of grog, pistols, a cannon and a pirate’s hat. The skull and crossbones symbol is the top payer, awarding up to 30 times your stake if you land 5 in combination. There are 4 extras on offer here.
Wild Island Row feature - each time a map symbol lands, it’s collected in the meter above the reels. This sends the sailing ship a step closer to its destination. Once you’ve amassed enough map symbols and reached the destination, you’ll unlock a new row. This takes the number of paylines from 20 up to 30. This new row remains unlocked for all future spins at that stake level.
Wild Monkey feature - the cheeky ship’s monkey is wild. When he appears, he wanders around the reels and collects all the lower value playing card suit symbols on the reels. A respin then follows made up of higher value symbols only. Each different symbol collected by the monkey also increases a wild multiplier. If he collected heart, diamond, club and spade symbols on the same spin, he turns into a 4x multiplier wild.
Battle Spins feature - this round is triggered by landing 3 Battle Spins scatters on the same spin. You’ll then receive a random allocation of free spins. Blackbeard lobs bombs onto the reels during this round. These remain sticky for the rest of the round. They can come with multipliers of up to 5x attached too. These bombs can add extras free spins to your total too.
Look out for Fire! symbols appearing in this feature – when 1 lands, 1 or more cannonballs are fired. If they land on the reels, they will turn into wilds – they can also hit the opposite shop to give you 1 additional free spin. If they land on other wilds, it will either increase or add a multiplier to it (up to 5x).
This buccaneering adventure is nicely done. The gameplay delivers plenty of variety and can pack a decent punch if the wild extras fall nicely in the free spins round. High variance, there are wins of over 5,000 times your stake to be won on each spin.
Pirates’ Plenty: Battle for Gold shares many characteristics of its predecessor. The design is very well put together and the features serve up plenty of action. If you liked the original Pirates’ Plenty, expect more of the same here. If you like the pirate theme, Pirate Gold from Pragmatic Play would be my choice though.
