Peggy Sweets Slot RTP, Details & Wager Limits
Reels/Paylines: 5×5 grid + cluster pays
Stakes Range: 10p to £10 per spin
Max Win: 5,173 x stake per spin
The Peggy Sweets slot is played on a colourful 5×5 grid and uses the cluster pays mechanic. Winners are formed by matching 8 or more adjacent symbols in a cluster. These then disappear from the grid, making way for new symbols to drop in that could form new wins.
Stakes range from 10p up to £10 per spin, so it may not cater to higher-stakes players, although the theme and fun gameplay could tempt them nonetheless. Use the + and – buttons below the reels to adjust your total stake. You can also utilise turbo spins and up to 100 autospins in most territories outside the UK.
The Peggy Sweets RTP is 96.68%, which is below the average for an online slot. The provider hasn’t outlined any hit frequency details, so I can’t tell you how often you’ll land a winner on average. However, the volatility here is high, so don’t expect big wins too often.
The maximum win is 5,173 x your stake, which isn’t too bad compared with other similar slots on the market, but I would have liked to see it higher when you consider the RTP rate is below average and the volatility is high. The Free Spins feature will be your best chance of landing the top prize due to the modifiers and the potential for a 30x multiplier.
Theme – a sweet surprise
High Value Symbol: Yellow Girl
Compatibility: Mobile, Tablet, Desktop
The theme in the Peggy Sweets slot game is all about girls on roller skates serving delicious treats from donuts to pancakes. The initial look reminded me of Karen’s Diner that’s taken the world by storm in 2022 with its hilarious but controversial restaurants of rude women serving good food. There are no expletives here, though.
The visuals are quite retro looking, with the reels set in front of a diner. The bright colours give it a very feminine feel, but it all ties in together really well. When you add in the girls and the funky soundtrack, it’s a nicely produced slot. I also like the added effects when winners land and one of the girls’ features is activated.
On the reels, the sweets make up the lower-paying symbols. You’ve got donuts, sundaes, jelly and pancakes. The 3 girls are the higher-paying symbols, with the Yellow Girl being the most rewarding symbol. She pays from 1 x your stake for 8 in a cluster right up to 150 x your stake for 25+.
There’s no Wild in the game, but there is a Scatter symbol, which is a pair of roller skates. 3 of those anywhere in view will trigger the Free Spins feature. Here’s a useful table to show the symbols in the game that you’ll come across:
|Donut||8+ up to 25+ = 0.1 up to 12.5 x stake|
|Sundae||8+ up to 25+ = 0.1 up to 20 x stake|
|Jelly||8+ up to 25+ = 0.2 up to 30 x stake|
|Pancakes||8+ up to 25+ = 0.2 up to 50 x stake|
|Pink Girl||8+ up to 25+ = 0.5 up to 60 x stake|
|Blue Girl||8+ up to 25+ = 0.8 up to 100 x stake|
|Yellow Girl||8+ up to 25+ = 1 up to 150 x stake|
|Free Spins Scatter||3 in view triggers Free Spins feature|
Peggy Sweets Mobile
Available to play on mobile, tablet and desktop devices, you have the choice of iOS or Android operating systems with the Peggy Sweet mobile slot. Produced using the latest HTML5 technology, the 5×5 grid works well on smaller screens, but I always prefer playing grid slots on a larger screen.
Peggy Sweets Bonus Features
There’s 1 main bonus feature here and that’s the Free Spins feature. But there are also 3 modifiers in the game where the 3 different girls can deliver some exciting action on the grid – Make it Large, Get One Free, and Win Multiplier is the 3 options. When 1 is activated, the next girl becomes active after that. Let’s explain it all for you, starting with the 3 modifiers.
There are 3 girls in the game and they each offer a specific feature that can be triggered at any point when she is active. You’ll know when a certain girl is active as you will see her portrait in the top right-hand corner of the slot. When a girl activates her feature, the next girl will become active. The initial order in which they appear is as follows:
- Pink Girl – Make it Large
- Blue Girl – Get One Free
- Yellow Girl – Win Multiplier
Here’s a table explaining what each girl offers in terms of modifiers:
|Make it Large||Pink Girl swaps all instances of 1 symbol type that has landed on the grid for another symbol type.|
|Get One Free||Blue Girl chooses 1 symbol and counts it as double. This symbol then acts as 2 symbols when determining the win in the spin.|
|Win Multiplier||Yellow Girl awards a multiplier of 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x.|
Free Spins feature
Landing 3 Free Spins Scatters anywhere in view in the base game of the Peggy Sweets slot game will trigger 8 free spins. The Girls’ features can trigger randomly in the bonus round at any point, and more than 1 of those features can be triggered in the same spin.
The 1 main difference here is that any Win Multipliers from the Yellow Girl will be stacked during the Free Spins feature. This can lead to multipliers up to 30x.
It’s also important to note that a special progress bar is active during the bonus round. Win combinations with the girl symbols contribute to filling it up. 1 girl adds 2 steps, 2 girls will add 2 steps and so on. There are 36 steps in total, and if you manage to get to the end, 8 more free spins are awarded.
No retriggers are available during the Free Spins feature
For players outside the UK, a ‘Buy Feature’ option is available for 60 x your stake. The RTP rate here is 95.74%.
Peggy Sweets Review Summary – treat yourself and indulge
A lot of providers have been trying to trump the Sweet Bonanza slot (Pragmatic Play) since its release and not much has come close to it. The Peggy Sweets slot has given it a really good go, but it falls short for a number of reasons. The theme is slightly different but it’s still all sweet-related.
The low RTP rate and the low max win let the slot down overall if I’m being honest, especially when you compare it to others. That’s not to say it’s a bad slot because it’s not. In fact, it’s pretty good. If these 2 aspects were better, the rating would be much higher as I enjoyed playing the game.
In terms of positives, the features in the game are good fun and I like that the Girls’ features are randomly triggered at any point. It all adds to the suspense and excitement when spinning the reels. Overall, this release will appeal to many fans of slots related to the sweets theme, but the enjoyment longevity is questionable.
We’ve mentioned Sweet Bonanza already, but there is a Christmas version if you want something different towards the end of the year. It’s called Sweet Bonanza Xmas. Obviously. Alternatively, check out Dropz from ELK Studios. It comes with 25,000 x max wins, up to 262,144 ways to win and some great bonus features.
- 5,173 x max wins
- Multipliers up to 30x
- Fun theme
- Low RTP rate (95.68%)
