China is a popular destination for Red Tiger Gaming and the developer has taken another trip to Asia to create Dragon’s Luck. It’s a 5 reel, 10 payline game that comes with giant 3×3 symbols, fire-breathing dragons who can transform symbols and a special Mega Fortune symbol that can deliver payouts of 1,380 times your stake. Play from between 20p and £500 per spin.
Dragon’s Luck follows a similar recipe to many other slots in the Red Tiger portfolio, namely super slick design and a range of base game mini features. The setting here is classical Chinese temple. Joining the lower value A to 10 playing cards are a water lily, koi carp, Chinese doll and a 138 coin. 3, 4 or 5 of the coin will see you pocket 200, 300 or 1,380 coins.
You can usually expect plenty of base game extra in games powered by Red Tiger Gaming and that’s certainly the case here – you’ll notice a pair of dormant dragons clinging to the pillars of the temple. These can randomly spring into life and start breathing fire onto a selection of symbols and turn them all into the same matching symbol to hopefully create a big payout.
Look out too for the Dragon Coin symbol – when this hits, it will rotate to reveal a special secret symbol which will potentially lead to a payout. Better still is the Mega Coin which is a giant 3×3 symbol – if this falls nicely, some enormous payouts are possible. Finally, fill the screen with the 138 Mega Fortune symbol and you’ll pocket a bumper payout of some 1,380 times your stake!
In some Red Tiger Gaming slots, we’ve found the features extremely tricky to trigger – that’s not the case here. The dragons work their fire-breathing magic most regularly and the other extras hit at decent intervals. There are no free spins on offer here which will be a no, no for some players. However, we’d put the variance in the medium to high bracket with plenty of near misses punctuated with the occasional biggie.
The visuals on display here are typically glossy and high end. Likewise, the Chinese style backing track. Red Tiger Gaming obviously places plenty of emphasis on the appearance of their slots and have come up trumps once again. The features here are solid rather than spectacular but the game is playable enough.
Dragon’s Luck is a slot for Chinese theme aficionados. If you enjoy that genre, we’d probably go for Yggdrasil Gaming’s Legend of the Monkey King or Shaolin Showdown from Skywind.
