The design in Snakes & Ladders is just what you’d expect from a Realistic Games slot – the reels are set within a brick and mortar casino cabinet and feature a selection of fruity favourites. You need to land 3 of the same symbol on 1 of the 5 paylines to create a winner.

The smallest payers are the cherries which pay 3 times your stake followed by the oranges which pay 5x, bells which ring to 5x and berries which award 6x. There’s quite a jump to the melons – 3 of these on a payline will get you a 15x payout. Best of all is the S&L logo which awards 30 times your stake as well the chance of a re-trigger. Stop the flashing dice – if it lands on ‘No’, you’re out of luck. Land on yes and you’ll win the 30x jackpot once again.

The other symbols to keep an eye on in the base game are the red dice – land 3 of them on a payline and you’ll trigger the Snakes & Ladders feature. It’s a virtual version of the classic snakes and ladder board game where you roll the red dice to work your way along the board.

Just like the board game, landing at the bottom a ladder will give you a boost up the board. The snake can send you crashing down though. Continue working your way along until you land on a number. This, multiplied by your total stake, is the award you’ll win. The higher you make it, the bigger the prizes on offer. Best of all is if you land on an award after rolling a double with the dice as the prize is doubled too.

You’re unlikely to win megabucks playing Snakes & Ladders. The 30x jackpot is decent enough though, especially for a 3-reel slot. This is by no means a classic but is one of the developer’s better efforts. If you want to mix things up a little, then Snakes & Ladders is a decent enough place to start. However, if you want bonus features such as free spins, Pirate Radio and Cashing Rainbows from Realistic Games are recommended.
