Landing an explosion of coins is the goal in Fireworks, a 5 reel, 10 payline slot from Realistic Games. Feature simple design and easy gameplay, it comes with a bonus feature where random symbols are transformed into the same 1 to offer maximum jackpots of 5,000 coins. Play, on all devices, from between 20p and £100 per spin.

The design in Fireworks is simple – the reels are set against a city skyline and include 4 lower value gemstone symbols alongside bricks of cash, gold bars and lucky 7s. The firework is the most rewarding symbol – a 5-in-a-row combination will award 250 coins. All of these symbols can land fully stacked 3 high to create bigger winning combinations.

Winning lines can be created when symbols appear adjacently on the same line – so for example, you could still land a winner if you had gold bars on the same payline on reels 2, 3 and 4. They don’t have to start on reel 1.

On each spin, you’ll notice a flaming fuse attached to a bonus firework – this is central to the game’s Firework feature. If a reel is filled with the same symbol, the fuse will remain lit and continue towards the firework. If the 3 symbols on the reel don’t match, the fuse goes out.

If all 5 reels contain a 3-high stack of the same symbol, the fuse will light the firework and you’ll trigger the feature. The symbols don’t all have to be the same to trigger. For example, reel 1 could be diamonds, reel 2 gold bars, reel 3 lucky 7s, reel 4 another gemstone, reel 5 money bricks.

Once the feature is live, a light will flash across the stacked symbols – click and it will land on 1. That stack, and all other instances of the same symbol will be locked in place. The remaining reels will then re-spin and land with 1, 2 or 3 of the frozen symbol guaranteed to land on each reel. A new payout is then made with the new cluster of symbols in place.

As you’d expect, Fireworks is a bright and colourful affair – it’s not the most exciting slot you’ll come across as far as gameplay goes but the feature round does offer plenty of potential. We found it pretty tricky to trigger but it did deliver some fine results when it did hit. If you like explosive action, Thunderkick’s Esqueleto Explosivo is a superb choice.
