Despite Quickspin aiming to put fear into players with Reel Nightmare, it’s actually a pleasant experience. A great bonus round and huge maximum payout make this a scary slot with a happy ending.

The maximum win is the headline for this game, instantly grabbing everyone’s attention. I know it was the first thing I spotted when creating the review. It’s more than just a big payout, though. The aesthetics are incredible, truly creating a horror movie atmosphere. From the creepy music to the revving chainsaw, you’ll feel like you’re being chased by Freddy or Jason.

The free spins round is excellent; the way the wilds work as the scatter makes them even more valuable than normal. When they become sticky during the feature, it makes every spin a potential big win. I had one run through the free spins where my final six spins were all over 300x my stake each.

If there was a slightly more interesting base game, this would be a 5/5 title. Although it doesn’t quite hit that level, it’s still an impressive game and is worth the 4.8 it scores.
