With a bees/animal theme, the Wild Swarm 2 slot is the sequel to Wild Swarm which was released back in June 2018. Set in a mystical forest, the setting is quite similar to the first outing. In and among trees and beehives, it has a magical quality visually.

The soundtrack is rather pleasant and light-hearted. As with the original slot, it does feel like a setting where Winne-the-Pooh would love. Push Gaming are no stranger to sequels (i.e. Razor Returns and Jammin’ Jars 2) and in all these examples, they’ve keep the visuals pretty similar.

On the reels, there are A, K, Q and J royals as the low-value symbols. Then you have purple and white flowers, honey, crowns and $ signs. The $ sign symbol is the best-paying awarding 0.5, 2, 10 or 30 x your total bet if you land 2, 3, 4 or 5 across a payline.

Swarm Mode feature

In the base game, a Bee symbol landing anywhere on the reels will see it fly into the Hive and collected. The Wild Honey symbol replaces the vacated position. There are 2 types of Bees you’ll come across:

Then, 10 free spins are awarded with Reel Multipliers set above each reel (Reel 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 come with 2x, 3x, 5x and 8x multipliers respectively. Before the first free spin, a guaranteed stack of Sticky Wilds land on a random reel. Finally, the effects of the Swarm Mode feature can continue in the base game with an extra boost to the starting Hive Meter (between 2 and 4 levels).

Free Spins feature

The Wild Swarm 2 slot also has a Free Spins feature. It’s triggered by when 3 or more Hive Scatter symbols land anywhere during a base game spin or by picking the appropriate Chest Prize from the Chest feature. 3, 4 or 5 Hive Scatters will result in:

As mentioned above, Push Gaming is no stranger to sequels. With the Wild Swarm 2 slot, they’ve pretty much kept things the same in terms of graphics and symbols. The visuals are sharper though and the backdrops are more detailed and elaborate.

In Push Gaming’s own words, they maintained their approach, “keeping all the strong and much loved mechanics while enhancing the overall gameplay experience”. With the Chest feature, the prizes are similar but are more lucrative in the sequel.

The significant difference is in the Swarm Mode feature as you now have Reel Multipliers above each reel. However, if you stop playing the game and come back to it another time, your Hive Meter progress will be lost. In the Free Spins feature, Reel Multipliers only appear on reels 2 and 4. Add in Sticky Wilds are there’s big win potential on offer.

In the original slot, the RTP is 97.03%. It’s not massively lower in the sequel though (96.67%). Wild Swarm 2 comes with 10,000 x bet max wins whereas the first outing offers 3,100 x bet top payouts. The sequel is 3.22 times more lucrative.

In summary, the Wild Swarm 2 slot game is very close to the original game with better and sharper graphics, enhanced bonus features and much bigger win potential. You cannot ask for much more in my opinion. That said, it’s not a good a slot game as Razor Returns or Mad Cars.
