Duelling siblings take centre stage in Dragon Sisters, an epic fantasy-themed slot from Push Gaming. Played using 2 different 5 reel sets, this 25 payline game comes with high-end design and a pair of re-spins extras with frozen wilds. Play from between 25p and £100 per spin.

The design in Dragon Sisters is well done and has a suitably epic feel – it reminds me a little of Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. A mountaintop palace forms the backdrop to the reels. Symbols include swords, arrows, breastplates and crowns. The best payers are the Dark and Light sisters – land 3, 4 or 5 of these and you’ll win an award equal to 2, 5 or 15 times your total stake.

The set up in Dragon Sisters is a little unusual – you’ll see 2 machines above each other. The top set features the Dark Sister and the Red Dragon. The lower set features the same symbols – the only differences being the appearance of the Light Sister and the Blue Dragon instead of the Dark Sister and Red Dragon. Both sets spin independently of each other and create their own winning combinations.

Things get much more interesting when you land 1 of the dragon symbols though. Land the Red Dragon on the top set and you’ll be awarded a re-spin on the bottom set – a stacked wild will appear on the reel directly below the Red Dragon on that re-spin. Land the Blue Dragon on the bottom set and you’ll get a re-spin on the top set. This time, 3 wilds are added at random on the re-spin.

Any wilds that land during the re-spins (either red or blue) are held – it’s possible to land further dragons on a re-spin. When this happens, the action can ping pong back and forth from the top to the bottom reel sets and vice versa.

There isn’t a free spins round but the red and blue dragons land at regular intervals and deliver enough re-spins to keep things interesting. The best winning chances occur when you land a dragon on a re-spin – fill multiple reels here and some very solid results our possible.

Dragon Sisters is a good-looking slot. There’s a suitably sweeping soundtrack to accompany the action too. It doesn’t offer the widest variety of extras but the twin reel set and wild extras offer some unusual action. If you’re a fan of the fantasy theme but fancy something a little different then Dragon Sisters is one to consider. I also recommend you try Kingdom of Legend from Novomatic or Double Dragons from Yggdrasil Gaming.
