Theme – glamour never takes a day off

The theme in the Pinup Girls slot game is a very glamorous one and takes you back to the 40s and 50s when the popularity of pinup models was soaring.  The reels are set in front of what looks like a cocktail bar on the beach. Although there’s also a classic car to the left of the reels with a pinup girl on the bonnet that’s dangerously close to the water.

The visuals are bold and colourful, and I like the flashing lights around the reels. It reminds me of those retro signs that were so popular back in the day. Regarding the soundtrack, it’s not what I was expecting. I was expecting maybe some rock n roll, but it’s a melodic tune that doesn’t really remind me of anything. A bell also sounds every time the multiplier increases. Overall, it’s pleasant enough, but I would have preferred something to reflect the era.

On the reels, you’ve got the usual A-10 Royals making up the lower-value symbols. These are joined by the higher paying ones, which include shoes, perfume and 4 pinup girls – one with lipstick, one holding a lollipop, one on the phone with a towel in her hair, and one in lingerie. Pinup Girls Review Summary – the max win lets this one down

This release comes just a few days after Wild Wild Bananas, and I’m not sure it’s better, to be honest. Visually, the Pinup Girls slot is fantastic. But I wish I could say the same for the max win potential and the bonus features. 3,000 x max wins is on the low side compared to a lot of other slots around today. I wish there were a couple more bonus features too.

The Progressive feature is a nice addition, but there’s no guarantee that Wilds will land on the 10^th spin, so you may not get to enjoy any benefits with this feature at all.

The main action comes in the Free Spins feature, which is pretty standard but at least the Progressive feature is active during this bonus round. But note that only 1 in 224.10 spins on average will trigger the Free Spins feature.

You’re never quite sure what to expect when you see exotic titles like ‘Pinup Girls’. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the visuals and the gameplay. I was slightly let down by the audio, but that was only a minor thing really.

Overall, it still gets a thumbs up from me as it’s a good slot to play. But I worry about the longevity due to the fact that there are much better slots out there offering much bigger max win potential and more bonus features.
