The reels are set in the North American mountains with wigwams in the background, which were homes built by the Algonquian tribes of American Indians living in the Northeast. The visuals are pretty standard but I like the bold symbol colours as they really pop on the screen. The soundtrack in the base game takes you back to the old West days, and it switches up to a more upbeat sound when the Free Spins feature lands. The background also turns from day to night to intensify the overall gameplay.

Mustang Trail Review Summary: wild horses for a not-so-wild slot

I thought this might be a follow-up to Mustang Gold before seeing the ins and outs of the game but it’s not. After testing the Mustang Trail slot for a long time, triggering the Free Spins feature and experiencing everything else this slot has to offer, I am a little stuck for positives. It was one of those slots where you play it and think that there’s not much to it. And there’s not.

There’s 1 Free Spins feature and a Wild that can help land some better wins. But nothing really stood out for me. The theme is hit a miss too, so you’re probably only going to enjoy this one if you’re a fan of the North American or Western themes.

Overall, it’s not a bad slot and the 5,000 x max wins aren’t too bad. But I can’t help but think that Pragmatic has just thrown this one together quickly to ensure they’re still on track to release 1 slot every week. The hit rate and the max win probability aren’t great either compared to other slots.
