The gap between the stake levels is significant. You can wager 20p a spin on the lowest level, but it can go as high as £240 for high-roller players. The Medusa’s Stone mobile slot is an excellent version of the game. It uses HTML5 for its conversion, so has compatibility across multiple browsers and platforms. The controls are extremely similar, although it doesn’t use the plus and minus buttons for the stake. Instead, players can set their wager using the coin stack button. It looks fantastic on a smaller screen, with no loss of sharpness or strange stretching of images. Mobile casino users won’t be disappointed with the version of Medusa’s Stone.

Medusa’s Stone Bonus Features

There are three bonus features included in Medusa’s Stone. The first is available in the base game and in the two bonus rounds. The second and third features are both free spin rounds.

Medusa Spin

The Medusa Spin can activate at any time during the base game. When it begins, a small animation plays and a sound effect announces the feature. When this triggers, any character symbols that land on the middle reels change into wilds.

Free Spins

Three scatter symbols award the free spins round. It instantly triggers 10 free spins, which behave like the main game. However, whenever the Medusa Spin feature triggers, it makes things a lot more interesting. Any character symbols that turn into wilds have multipliers attached, between 2 and 6x. The wilds that are part of a win will add up their multipliers and apply them to the win. Wilds that aren’t part of a win remain on the reels until they are used. Multipliers remain on the multiplier meter and are also part of future Medusa Spin wins.

Super Free Spins

The super free spins are the pinnacle of Medusa’s Stone’s bonus features. Whenever three super scatters land during the Medusa Spin feature, it awards 12 free spins. It’s a similar feature to the standard free spins, but increases the chances of the Medusa Spin feature triggering. The wins are larger here, due to the wild multipliers increasing to between 4 and 8x, making for some impressive wins.

Medusa’s Stone is a run-of-the-mill release from Pragmatic Play. It has a nice maximum win and some interesting features but isn’t on the same level as top Greek Mythology titles.

Pros

• The super free spins can add some incredible multipliers to wins
• Triggering the Medusa Spin feature adds an increased chance of payouts
• At 7,000x the stake, the maximum win is a positive aspect

Cons

• The number of paylines is a little low for the number of rows

I enjoyed Medusa’s Stone, and it certainly isn’t a bad slot. However, it’s not amongst the elite titles on the market. The features and top win are quite good, but there’s nothing here that hasn’t been done before. You’ll enjoy playing Medusa’s Stone, but if you want something fresh, you won’t find it here.
