Theme: dig for victory

A dragon’s gem-filled lair is the setting for this mining-themed slot. The dragon and a rather cheery looking animated dwarf watch over the reels. The symbols are set on blocks of stone. You’ll see green, purple, blue, yellow and red stones alongside four more rewarding symbols related to the mining theme. There’s a map, a pickaxe, sticks of dynamite and a lamp. Land 5 of the lamp in combination for an award equal to 25 x stake.

The golden dragon egg is the wild. These can land on reels 2, 3 and 4 only and substitutes for all the standard symbols in a winning combination. Rounding out the symbols is a dragon’s eye which is the scatter symbol. Land 3 or more of these on the same spin to activate the feature.

There’s a rather jaunty orchestral soundtrack playing in the base game. This really revs up into something much more frantic (almost klezmer style) when you land the free spins.

I liked the design here. As you might expect given the theme, the backdrop is a bit dark. The symbols are clear enough though which is the main thing. Here’s what those symbols pay:

While this release might not suit everyone, the solid visuals and fun bonus features along with the 14,000 x bet max wins give this slot a deserved rating of 3.5/5.

Pragmatic Play has kept things pretty simple in Dwarf & Dragon. The gameplay here is very straightforward. There’s not a huge amount to report as far as features go other than the split symbols, multiplier wilds and free spins. I found that overall package to be solid enough, if a little repetitive at times. If you like slots that offer plenty of variety, this probably won’t be for you.

Simple it may be, but Dwarf & Dragon delivers some decent action. I triggered the free spins fairly regularly, but the results were decidedly mixed. No surprise really given this game’s 5/5 volatility.

Visually, I found Dwarf & Dragon just fine. Likewise, the soundtrack which is a real toe-tapper in the free spins feature.

With plenty of other similarly themed slots already available, Dwarf & Dragon doesn’t really stand out. It’s perfectly solid though, and one to consider if you like digging for your wins.
