Theme – Audio & Design Features – head to Gotham City
The Dark Knight Rises slot is an official game licensed by DC Comics and Warner Bros. It’s based on The Dark Knight Rises 2012 film which pits Batman (Christian Bale) against the mask-wearing super villain, Bane (Tom Hardy). The design in this slot version has the brooding, menacing atmosphere from the source film.
The reels are set against a rain-sodden Gotham City skyline. The visuals here are just as high spec as you’d expect from a big movie tie-in. The same goes for the action-filled soundtrack which really ramps up the atmosphere. The design here is terrific.
You’ll see A to 9 playing cards spinning around the reels alongside the Batpod, Batmobile, Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) and Bane. The top symbol is Batman who awards 0.375, 1.5, 6.25 or 25 x your total stake if you land 2, 3, 4 or 5 on adjacent reels.
Helping to create winning combinations is the Bat logo which is the wild. It appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 only and substitutes for everything bar the bonus symbols.
The Dark Knight Rises has been fully optimised for play on all devices including mobiles and tablets as well as desktop computers. The slick visuals are excellent on the smaller screen handsets. The gameplay stacks up perfectly well in The Dark Knight Rises mobile slot too.
The Dark Knight Rises Bonus Features
This outing for the Caped Crusader comes with 5 bonus features. As well as a free spins bonus, complete with added wilds, there are special multiplier boosts which can send payouts soaring by up to 25x. There’s also the potential on offer from the progressive jackpots.
The Fire Rises feature
The Fire Rises feature if you fill all of the middle 3 reels with the same high value matching symbol. This can be anything other than 1 of the A to 10 royals. Reels 1 and 5 will then spin again to reveal multipliers which can combine to boost payouts by up to 25x. Here’s what multipliers are on offer:
The win is then boosted by the multiplied multipliers. If you were to land Batman on the middle 3 reels. If you then landed Batman on reels 1 and 5, the multipliers would multiply to give you a 25x multiplier. This would result in a 25,000 x stake payout.
Fusion Reactor Bonus features
To trigger the Fusion Reactor Bonus, you need to land scatter symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 on the same spin. You’ll then get to spin the bonus wheel. This will determine how many free spins you’ll play, what multipliers are active when you land a winner with Batman or Bane.
Keep on spinning until either Batman or Bane hit the stop button. Who hits that stop button determines which feature you’ll then go on to play:
- The Dark Knight Rises Free Games feature: here, the Batman symbol turns wild when it hits on reels 2, 3 or 4.
- Born in Darkness Free Games feature: here, Bane turns wild when appears on the middle 3 reels.
- Gotham City Reckoning Free Games feature: this is played if both Batman and Bane hit the stop button at the same time. Both Batman and Bane turn wild when they hit on reels 2, 3 or 4.
You’ll then go on to play your free spins, with all payouts boosted by the accumulated multipliers from the wheel spin. The multiplier can be as high as 10x.
DC Super Heroes Jackpot feature
As mentioned, The Dark Knight Rises is part of the DC Comics series. This means you can win 4 progressive jackpots. The DC Super Heroes Jackpot feature is triggered randomly. Once in, choose from the energy balls to reveal which jackpot you have won.

The Dark Knight Rises Review Summary – top adaptation of the blockbuster film
The Dark Knight Rises slot is designed superbly and really conjures up the chaotic Gotham City atmosphere from the film. The movie proved a smash hit with audiences and critics alike. The same is true of this impressive slot adaptation.
Visuals aside, the bonus features are very good with The Fire Rises feature giving you multipliers up to 25x. This can lead to 25,000 x stake payouts if you fill the reels with the Batman symbol and get a 5x multiplier on both reels 1 and 5.
The 3 free spins features also deliver some top action, especially if you manage to play the Gotham City Reckoning Free Games feature where both Bane and Batman are extra wilds.
Fans of the film should find plenty to like here. Even if you’re not usually a superhero fan or even if you’ve not seen the film, The Dark Knight Rises slot is still well worth playing. Of course, the 4 progressive jackpots are the icing on the cake.
If you like super heroes, Playtech has quite the range with Suicide Squad and Justice League being my favourites. Looking for jackpots? The jackpot slots page is your best bet where you’ll find the likes of Mega Fortune, Mega Moolah, Jackpot Giant and Hall of Gods.
