Storms of Ice Slot RTP, Details & Wager Limits
The action in the Storms of Ice slot takes place on 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 fixed paylines. Landing 3, 4 or 5 matching symbols or wilds from left to right on a payline, starting from the leftmost reel, will get you a winning combination. Just 2 of the higher value character symbols are required to form a winner.
Stake levels here are available for players of all bankrolls. Players can play from 5p to £500 per spin. Use the + and – tabs next to the Total Bet box to adjust your stake size. In some countries, there’s a Quick Play option for faster spins as well as an Autoplay function.
The Storms of Ice RTP is 96.47% which is better than average. That includes a hefty 2.99% contribution from each spin to the PowerPlay progressive jackpot pool. Jackpots aside, the most you can win is 2,500 x your total stake per spin.
Theme – Audio & Design Features – join vikings on a quest for jackpots
The design in the Storms of Ice slot is superbly done. With a viking theme, the imagery here is packed full of detail and superbly drawn. There’s an ‘olde worlde’ soundtrack playing as you spin which fits this theme rather nicely.
With mountains, forests and rivers in the background, the reels are made up of lower value Norse-style A to 10 royals, an owl, a wolf and 3 higher paying character symbols. The warrior and the woman both pay 8 x stake if you land 5 on a payline. The bearded elder is the game’s most lucrative standard symbol. He pays 20 x your total stake if you land 5 in combination.
There are also stacked Gold and Silver Wilds (as well as satellite wilds that can appear when you trigger the respins feature). All the wilds pay 0.2, 1 or 8 x your total stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 across a payline.
Playtech has created fully optimised versions of Storms of Ice for smartphones and tablets as well as desktop devices. Regardless of what you’re using to play, the design here really is terrific. The gameplay is simple which again, make the Storms of Ice mobile slot a very straightforward one to play.
Storms of Ice Bonus Features
The range of extras in Storms of Ice isn’t massive. With 2 bonus features, the main extra is the Golden Wild Respins feature. These are stacked wilds with multipliers. Storms of Ice is also part of a jackpot network which can deliver some potentially massive awards.
Golden Wild Respins feature
Wilds are central to most of the best action in Storms of Ice. The Silver and Gold Wilds both spin in stacks that are 3 symbols high. The Gold can land in reels 2, 3 and 4, the silver on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. Land a full stack of Gold Wilds on any of the middle 3 reels and you’ll activate the Golden Wild Respins feature. Any partial stacks of Gold and Silver wilds first turn into individual Satellite Wilds. These substitute for all the standard symbols, just like the Gold Wilds.
To the right of the reels, the Ice King will appear. A respin is awarded with all the wild, Golden and Satellite, moving 1 reel to the left. The respins keep on coming until all the wild have dropped off the leftmost reel.
With each respin, a multiplier increases by 1x to 2x, 3x and 5x. This multiplier is applied to all winning combinations on that re-spin. When there are no wilds on display, you’ll return to the base game.
PowerPlay Jackpot feature
Storms of Ice is part of Playtech’s PowerPlay Jackpot Network. You’ll have a shot at randomly triggering the PowerPlay Jackpot feature which offer the Mini, Peak or Mega PowerPlay Jackpots. You can check out the value of each of the 3 jackpots in the meters to the left of the reels. Here’s what they offer:
|Mini PowerPlay Jackpot||Pays out by £200|
|Peak PowerPlay Jackpot||Pays out by £3,000|
|Mega PowerPlay Jackpot||Unlimited|
Storms of Ice Review Summary – same gameplay as Age of the Gods: God of Storms
The range of bonus features isn’t enormous in the Storms of Ice slot. In fact, it offers identical gameplay to Age of The Gods: God of Storms which is 1 of Playtech’s most played games.
Despite not having many bonus features, I didn’t find this a boring slot though. The Golden Wild respins offer enough action to keep you on your toes, especially if you land more than 1 of them on the triggering spin in combination with other satellite wilds. Add the expanding multipliers from the Ice King and this can lead to 2,500 x stake wins when the multiplier reach 5x.
The difference here is the PowerPlay Jackpot element. If you compare to Age of the Gods: God of Storms, the jackpots are a lot lower.
