The Spy Rise slot is a 5 reel, 40 payline progressive jackpot game which was created by Playtech. Available to play on all devices from 20p to £100 per spin, this spy themed game sees you go on an undercover mission for prizes where you’ll get upgraded symbols, free spins with win both ways payouts and a progressive jackpot.

First of all, I must say that Spy Rise looks incredible. It has a futuristic feel and is set in an Asian neon-lit city. Symbols on the reels include Euro, Pound, Dollar, Bitcoin and Japanese Yen logos (all in neon). You will also see watches, sports cars and 2 spies.

The male spy is the most rewarding giving you 50 times your stake for 5 on a payline. There’s also a wild symbol that substitutes for all symbols bar the scatter. It pays like the male spy.

The Spy Rise slot comes with a Feature Bet Mode feature. You can improve payouts by upgrading symbols. There’s a Feature Bet button under the reels. You then choose a symbol in the sidebar to choose your feature bet level. You can upgrade 4 symbols at a price:

  • Upgrade level 1: costs you 1.5 times your stake. The watch is now worth up to 58.33 x your stake
  • Upgrade level 2: costs you 2 times your stake. The sports car is now worth up to 62.50 x your stake
  • Upgrade level 3: costs you 2.5 times your stake. The female spy is now worth up to 70 x your stake
  • Upgrade level 4: costs you 3 times your stake. The male spy is now worth up to 83.33 x your stake

Spy Rise has a Free Games feature. This is played when you get the Spy Rise logo scatter on reels 1, 3 and 5 simultaneously. With 10 free spins awarded, you will benefit from with both ways payouts meaning you can form wins from left to right (starting from reel 1) and right to left (starting from reel 5). Upgraded symbols are also carried over – you can form wins more easily which helps you win bigger.

Finally, Spy Rise has a Progressive Jackpot feature. This is played when you get 5 red reels. If you get 3 or 4 red reels, you will win 3 or 25 times your stake. 5 red reels will give you the jackpot!

I really like the Spy Rise slot game. It’s a medium variance slot with the bigger wins coming in the Free Games feature due to the win both ways payouts. If you have upgraded the symbols to level 4, a screen full of male spies will result in a 3,333.33 times stake payout. I would recommend using the Feature Bet option as it can result in much bigger wins.

If you like the spy theme, Agent Destiny by Play ‘n GO is recommended and offers 1,200 x stake max wins.
