Spud O’ Reilly’s Crops of Gold is a Playtech-powered video slot with 5 reels and 20 paylines. This Irish luck themed game is available to play on desktop devices only from 20p to £2,000 a spin. Based on an Irish farmer, Spud O’ Reilly, it has an Irish farming theme.
Symbols on the reels include Spud O’ Reilly himself, tractors, lucky pants, sheep and 4-leaf clovers. Spud O’ Reilly is the wild symbol and the most valuable – you will be rewarded with 10,000 times your line stake if you manage to get 5 across a payline. It also substitutes for all symbols except the scatter and bonus symbols.
When it comes to bonus features, it has 2 – you have the Sheep Shearing Bonus feature which is played when you get 3 or more sheep bonus symbols on reels 1, 2 and 3. You will be taken to a meadow with plenty of sheep – as you shear them, you will uncover cash prizes. It’s that simple. The number of sheep you shear will depends on how many bonus symbols you got to trigger the feature (i.e. 5 bonus symbols equals 5 sheep sheared).
You also have the Free Game feature which is played when you get 3 or more Free Games 4-leaf clover scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. You will begin with 10 free spins with all wins subject to a 3x multiplier. Look out for more 4-leaf clovers during the feature as 3 will give you 10 additional free spins – the good news is that free spins can be triggered infinitely.
With a light-hearted feel, it’s a colourful offering from Playtech which is rather enjoyable. I found the variance to be somewhere in the middle with the bigger wins coming in the free spins feature. It’s not the best Playtech slot to be produced as I prefer games with better bonus features – you cannot go wrong with Age of the Gods which is the same as The Avengers and benefits from the best bonus feature I’ve ever come across.
