Visually, Sky Queen is quite simple – you go on a Mesoamerican adventure where you summon the strength of the Sky Queen for big wins. Symbols include A, K, Q, J and 10 royals as well as bowls, dragon head statues, Aztec head masks and leopards. The latter is the highest value symbol with 5 giving you 3 times your stake. The Sky Queen herself is the wild and replaces all symbols bar the scatter and sun – it appears only on reels 2, 3, 4 an 5.
When it comes to features, you have the Free Games feature which is played when you get 3, 4 or 5 temple scatters anywhere on the reels – you’ll receive 1, 10 or 50 times your stake as well as 8 free spins. You can also retrigger the feature to give you up to 16 free spins in total.
Now, during the free spins and in the base game, you’ll see sun symbols appearing which display a cash prize up to 50 times your stake. If you get 6 or more, you will activate the Fire Blaze Respin feature. Each sun symbol that appears in the feature will show a cash prize or Jackpot Star icon – with 3 respins awarded, all sun symbols are held if they appear. The number of respins will be reset to 3.
If you fill all symbol positions with sun symbols, you’ll win the Grand Jackpot which is worth 2,000 times your stake. All the cash prizes shown on the stars are also added to your win. Whilst the value of the symbols is low in the base game, you can win pretty big from the Fire Blaze Respin feature due the cash value award from the sun symbols (up to 50 times your stake for each one). If you’re lucky, you could win 2,000 times your stake in total which is pretty decent.
Sky Queen is a decent slot but I prefer something with more backstory and more win potential from the base game and Free Games feature – Playtech has lots of these slots including Big Shots or Age of the Gods: Mighty Midas.
