The reels in the Panda Blitz slot game are set deep inside the rainforest, although we don’t know which rainforest. We won’t say the Amazon as there are pandas in the game, which actually reside in the mountains of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu in China.

The visuals are fairly basic but I like the bold choice of colours as it really enhances the overall gameplay in my opinion. Playtech doesn’t care too much for the audio in a lot of its slots, and this one is no different. The soundtrack is basic but nice enough that it doesn’t have me reaching for the mute button.

Land the Free Games feature and the music intensifies, with some very retro sounds when you land winners. The reels also switch from the rainforest to the mountains. I like what Playtech has done with the Rolling Panda symbol too. It acts just like a real Panda in some ways.

On the reels, the A-9 Royals make up the lower-paying symbols. These are joined by numerous higher-paying animals – birds, monkeys, leopards, mountain goats and pandas. The panda symbol is the most lucrative, paying 1, 3.75, 5, 6.25 or 7.5 x the bet for 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 in combination respectively.

Panda Blitz Review Summary: a fun progressive jackpot slot

The Panda Blitz slot is a typical Playtech game with solid gameplay but without too much input when it comes to visuals and audio. But if the gameplay is great, who cares about the rest, right? Well, some do. But don’t take anything away from how this game plays as it’s really good overall. I tested this for a long time and I enjoyed the Free Games feature once I was able to trigger it. The Panda rolling around is a nice touch.

While the max win potential without the jackpot is pretty low, you can’t get away from the fact that there is a fantastic top prize of well over £100,000 on offer. That is what gives this slot a boost. Without it, I’m not sure there would be too many fans. Unless you like pandas of course.
