John Wayne Slot Review

The John Wayne slot game has 5 reels and 25 paylines and is powered by Playtech software. It benefits from a Western soundtrack and cowboy imagery as you go through the Wild West alongside the famous Duke and his horse, Dollar. You can play from as little as 25p a spin to as much as £125 a spin.

There’s The Duke’s Badge feature which you can activate by obtaining 3 or more Duke’s badges anywhere on the reels. This is a pick me feature where you choose 1 badge to give you a cash prize. Obtaining 3 badges to trigger the feature will give you between 4 and 8 times your stake, between 20 and 30 times your stake for getting 4 badges and between 80 and 120 times your stake if you trigger the feature with 5 badge symbols. I’ve managed to get 4 badges before (only once) and got just under 25 times my stake. This feature triggers quite a few times though but nearly always with just 3 badges.

The best thing about the John Wayne game is the John Wayne’s Ranch Bonus feature – this is triggered by obtaining the bonus symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 simultaneously. You receive 3 free spins with a 1x multiplier but are taken to a screen where you shoot 6 tins cans. These tin cans can reveal extra free spins, a +1 multiplier, extra tin cans to shoot, a free spins re-trigger, a random extra wild symbol and random extra scatter symbol.

There is a ‘can meter’ in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen that shows you how many cans you still have to shoot. Once the feature starts, you should hope for the ‘More Free Games’ re-trigger symbol (provided you revealed it in the shooting session) as it will reward you with 4 extra free spins. If you’re lucky, you can benefit from 40 free spins with a 5x multiplier – unlikely though so expect around 15 free spins.

I really like the John Wayne online slot (Playtech version though as there is a WMS version) – the free spins feature is not a feature you will activate a lot though but when it comes, you will do well out of it. It’s quite similar to the Gladiator slot in some ways but if you want bigger wins, I recommend Great Blue.
