Halloween Fortune II is the sequel to very popular Halloween Fortune – powered by Playtech, it has 5 reels and 25 paylines. Playable from 25p to £250 per spin across all devices, it has an obvious Halloween theme with even sharper graphics and animations than the first outing.
Set in a dark and creepy woodland, symbols on the reels including skulls with candles on them, black cats, ravens and 3 potions. The 3 witches also appear stacked covering 2 symbols. The highest value symbol is the pumpkin wild which rewards you with 3,000 times your line stake if you manage to find 5 on a payline – it also substitutes for all symbols except the scatter.
The gameplay is simple and uses the Turbo Mode feature meaning you can spin the reels that bit faster. However, it’s all about the Free Games feature which is played when you get 3 Halloween Fortune II scatter symbols anywhere on the reels.
You will receive 10 free spins and benefit from an increasing multiplier – starting at 2x, the multiplier increases by 1 after every 2 free spins. This means free spins 3 and 4 will be subject to a 3x multiplier with free spins 5 and 6 subject to a 4x multiplier. Free spins 7 and 8 will be subject to a 5x multiplier and the last 2 free spins will be subject to a 6x multiplier.
Furthermore, the pumpkin wild symbol appears in the middle position of the 3rd (middle) reel for the duration of the Free Games feature – the only downside is that you cannot retrigger more free spins.
I really like the original game with Halloween Fortune II just as good – it’s more volatile than its predecessor making it a high variance offering. I found it hard to trigger the Free Games feature though and most times won between 30 and 40 times my stake – however, if you get lucky with wilds, you can conjure up a cauldron full of coins as I managed to win over 600 times my stake. Thumbs up to Playtech for Halloween Fortune II.
