With a medieval feel and set on lush green meadows, it has a spritely soundtrack playing as you spin the reels. Symbols on the reels include A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 royals as well as rings, ancient books, goblets, crowns and shields. The cross pendant is the wild and appears only on the 3 middle reels – it replaces all symbols bar the scatter.

Glory and Britannia allows you to build the slot you want – above the reels you will notice 7 characters. Each of them possesses a talent which will transform your wins. Each one you summon will add 10 credits to your stake – for example, if playing at the minimum 30p per spin, 1 character summoned will cost you 40p a spin.

If you were to choose all 7 of them, it would cost you £1 per spin. Each character can be found in the Side Bet Shop - this is what’s on offer:

  • Lady of the Lake feature – she can award 3 re-spins after any spin. During the re-spins, the lower paying royal symbols are removed from the reels.
  • Templar Knight feature – during the re-spin, the Templar Knight adds stacked treasure chests to all reels. The chests then open to show the same randomly chosen symbol.
  • Guinevere feature – Guinevere will enchant a symbol from the initial re-spin. This enchanted symbol then spreads through the reels creating more winning combinations.
  • Merlin feature – Merlin can randomly award a re-spin where 1, 2 or 3 reels turn fully wild.
  • Duke of York feature – a multiplier of 2x, 3x or 5x will be applied to your wins.
  • King Arthur feature – up to 20 free spins are added when you trigger the Free Spins feature. It can also randomly trigger other Side Bet features.
  • Robin Hood feature – Robin Hood fire arrows onto symbols transforming them into wilds – up to 12 symbols can become wild.

Glory and Britannia also comes with a Free Spins feature which is played when 3 or more England flag scatters appear anywhere on the reels – you’ll receive 15 free spins. If you had the King Arthur feature activated, you could get 20 more free spins which would take your total to 35.

Anyway, the reels during the feature have an extra row which gives you 1,024 ways to win – you can choose to use any of the 7 Side Bet features meaning you could benefit from up to 3 wild reels on every free spin, extra free spins, up to 12 wilds or multipliers up to 5x for example. The choice is yours!

I rather like Glory and Britannia as it allows you to be as adventurous of conservative as you like – of the 7 Side Bet features, I would recommend the Duke of York for multipliers up to 5x as well as Merlin for up to 3 wild reels. All in all, you could win 2,500 times your stake on each spin with the 5x multiplier so it has potential to pay out handsomely. Overall, another good slot from Playtech – I also suggest you try Quickspin’s Mighty Arthur which has a similar theme.
