Five Tiger Generals is a Playtech-powered slot with 5 reels and 15 paylines. Available to play on desktop, mobile and tablet devices from 60p to £6 per spin. With a Chinese theme, it’s based on popular name in Chinese culture for any 5 military generals serving under a ruler.
Aesthetically superb (like all Playtech slots), it’s all about the battlefield in the backdrop. Symbols on the reels include Chinese style playing cards (A, K, Q, J and 10) as well as the 5 generals of course. They are drawn rather well with the warrior holding the scimitar (the one in green) the most rewarding.
5 of each of them will trigger a 5 of a kind jackpot which are all fixed jackpots. For example, the green warrior will give you 333 times your stake if you manage to get 5 on a payline. The wild symbol is a Tiger banner and only appears on the middle 3 reels – it substitutes for all symbols except the scatter.
The scatter (Chinese letters it seems) is the scatter with 3 or more anywhere in view required to trigger the Tiger Generals Free Games feature – there is no certain amount of free spins granted as you will carry on spinning until you have collected 5 wilds (wilds appear on all 5 reels in the feature).
Once you do, the Wild Tiger Super Spin is triggered automatically – all the wilds collected (5 of them) are randomly added to the reels where they remain frozen. It’s basically 1 last free spin with 5 wilds on it.
Playtech really has focused on Chinese themed slots with Five Tiger Generals a decent addition to that portfolio – variance wise, I consider to be in the middle with good wins in both the base game and feature. I did find my biggest wins to be on the Wild Tiger Super Spin but it can be frustrating as most of the time it will give you wins of under 10 times your stake. If you like the theme, Sun Wukong by Playtech is recommended.
