Cowboys & Aliens Slot Review
The Cowboys & Aliens slot has 5 reels and 9 paylines and is a Playtech-powered video slot. It’s based on the classic comic book, it was made into a film that has grossed over $170 million worldwide. It features Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford amongst others. You can play from 9p a spin to £45 a spin and it comes with a 10,000 coin jackpot which is triggered by getting 5 wild symbols.
The graphics are comic book style which is great – Cowboys & Aliens benefits from 3 bonus features. The first is the Alien Weapon feature which is triggered when the gun symbol appears on reel 1. When it appears the triangle on the gun spins randomly picking a number from 1 to 4. The number you get will determine how many random symbols are shot at. These will then turn into wilds. This means you can get up to 4 wild symbols for a re-spin.
Then you have the Alien Attack Bonus feature which is triggered by getting the Bonus symbol on reels 1 and 5. The aliens will attack in 3 waves – you need to choose which alien to try and kill. A screen appears with 3 characters – each of them has varying ammunitions but different hit accuracies. I would personally choose The Arrow.
Each kill will reward you with a cash prize, a 2x multiplier or extra ammo. The feature ends when your ammunition has run out or all the aliens have been killed. Cowboys & Aliens is a highly entertaining slot with the real value is in the Free Spins feature as the comic strip wilds can really boost your win amounts. I like the Alien Attack Bonus feature from a game point of view even though the value hasn’t been too high. This game is a typically branded slot that is low variance with big wins very hard to come by. It left a lot to be desired in my opinion and you’re better off playing other Playtech slots like The Avengers, Great Blue or The Incredible Hulk.
