Collect feature

Animal features

The Animal Instinct slot comes with 5 Animal features. When an African Tribe Man Scatter lands simultaneously on reels 1, 3 and 5, one of the five features will be triggered.

Which feature is activated depends on which meter is filled the highest. If multiple meters are completely full, equally filled or entirely empty, 1 of the features will be chosen randomly. The soundtrack is all features and upbeat like in the 1994 The Lion King movie. Here is what each of the features entails:

• Lion Free Games feature (Gold Meter): On each free spin, 1 random animal symbol acts as a Sunset Wild symbol.
• Elephant Free Games feature (Red Meter): For 10 free spins, a row of multipliers appears above the reels. The rightmost multiplier above the reels multiplies all payouts won from Power Collect symbols. When a multiplier applies, it disappears and all multipliers above the reels shift to right with a new multiplier appearing from the left. Multiplier values range between 2x and 25x.

Animal Instinct Review Summary: lots of variety from the African grasslands

Superbly designed, the Animal Instinct slot follows a long line of games inspired by the African wilderness. Lions, elephants and rhinos appear in countless slot games including Buffalo Blitz and Raging Rhino most famously. Well designed, it looks particularly great on smartphone devices.

In terms of the bonus features, the Power Collect symbol collects instances of 1 animal symbol. If you are lucky enough to collect 10 Lion symbols, you’ll pocket a decent 625 x bet payout. However, the bigger wins will certainly come in the Animal features.

Of the 5 Animal features, the Buffalo Free Games feature sees stacked wilds added on the reels which remain in place until the feature ends. My favourite is the Elephant Free Games feature. Basically, payouts from the Power Collect symbol will be subject to a multiplier of up to 25x. If you landed 10 Lion symbols, you’d win 15,625 x your total bet theoretically.

With 7,553.375 x bet max wins possible, the Elephant Free Games feature is the only way to achieve this. Multipliers in some of the other free spins features would have made the Animal Instinct slot on par with the iconic Buffalo Blitz.
