Time Warp Guardian is a 5 reel, 243 ways to win slot from Playson. Playable from 20p to £60 per spin across all devices, this futuristic themed game takes you on an exciting journey alongside the Time Warp Guardian – with sticky wild reel re-spins, there’s also 4 free spins modes where you get to trace to evolution of wilds.
Visually, Time Warp Guardian is stunning, as you’d expect from a Playson title. Set in the future, you are helped on your journey by the beautiful girl (the Time Warp Guardian) who is ever-present to the left of the hologram reel set.
With a police car patrolling the streets in the background, symbols including regular playing cards (A, K, Q, J and 10) as well as maps, body armour and a weird, purple serpent tail of some sort. The Time Warp Guardian is the most rewarding symbol giving you 15 times your stake for 5 across a payline.
The wild is a stone statue which substitutes for all symbols – it only appears on reels 1 and 5 (the outer ones). When 2 wilds land on the same reel, the reel becomes a sticky reel and triggers the Re-Spins feature. You will then be awarded a free re-spin with the sticky wild reel in place.
If you manage to land 4 wilds, you will trigger the Time Warp Bonus Mode feature – you will come across 2 3×3 game fields with 5 free spins awarded. The good thing is that only high value symbols are active on the reels. If identical symbols appear in the mirror position on each of the game fields, they turn into wilds.
If 2 identical Era Hologram symbols appear, it will unlock the Free Spins feature – you then get the choice of 3 extra free spins modes. These are the Jurassic Period, Antique Period and Distant Future:
- Jurassic Period – you get 8 free spins with 1 win-hunting wild landing on the middle cell of reel 5. They will continue to land on the central cells of the subsequent reels with each free spin until you get a win.
- Antique Period – you get 10 free spins with 1 to 3 wild symbols randomly added to the reels with each free spin.
- Distant Future – you get 12 free spins with 1 wild remaining sticky in the middle of reel 3. There are 2 linked reels on the game field (reels 2 and 4) which have identical symbols to give you bigger wins.
Time Warp Guardian may sound complicated but it’s rather easy once you start spinning the reels – it looks fantastic and is all about the 4 free spins modes. I particularly like the Antique Period with up to 3 wilds on each free spin – this resulted in a 250 times stake win on my 1st attempt. I consider it a medium variance game. If you like futuristic offerings, NextGen Gaming’s Bounty Hunt is recommended.
