Marioni Show is powered by Playson and is a 5 reel, 10 payline slot that can be played from 20p to £50 per spin on desktop, mobile and tablet devices. Based on the puppet show croupier, you are told a magic story of 2 knights fighting for the beautiful princess.
Visually, Marioni Show looks superb – you are taken to a puppet show where you enter an enchanting world. The 2 knights fighting over the princess takes centre stage as you will see a medieval castle set in the background. The reels are made up of wooden windows with battle style emblems on them.
Symbols on the reels include A, K and Q playing cards, princesses, wizards, dragons, centaurs and 2 knights (1 light and 1 dark) – the latter 2 are the most rewarding giving you 25 times your total stake for 5 across a payline. Other symbols include the castle scatter and the joker wild which substitutes for all other symbols (bar the scatter) and appears only on the 3 middle reels.
Look out for the Croupier to the right of reel set as he deals 3 cards when you get a winning combination – if the croupier reveals the same multiplier on all 3 cards, that will be applied to your winnings. You can benefit from a multiplier up to 4x. Joker wilds in the base game add Joker cards to the croupier’s hand – when all cards are substitutes by the Joker, you will benefit from a 10x multiplier!
There is also a Bonus Game feature which is triggered when light and dark knights appear face to face on the reels – you then must decide which knight you want to fight for you. You then have 4 cards to beat the opponent – a card of the chosen knight fights against the card of your opponent. If you win, you will move along on the progress bar and collect stake prizes. The feature only ends when 1 of the knights runs out of lives.
If you choose the gold knight and he wins, you will get a 15x multiplier of your feature win whilst the silver knight gives you 15 free spins. You can get 2 knights in 1 feature with 1 played after another.
There is also a Free Spins feature which is played when 3 castle scatters appear anywhere in the base game – this will give you 10 free spins. The multipliers on the croupier’s cards increase to 3x, 5x and 7x but the joker will give you wins of 10x! Furthermore, you will benefit from an extra wild symbol during the free spins as it appears on reel 1 only – when it does, it will add a randomly amount of free spins (up to 3). In total, you can win up to 120 free spins!
I quite like Marioni Show – the theme is good and graphically, it’s superb (as always from Playson). I like the fact you can get multipliers up to 10x on each winning spin in the base game and the Free Spins feature. I found the Bonus Game feature to be decent too especially if you trigger the Free Spins feature with 15 free spins. I consider the game to be a medium variance one and 1 of Playson’s better titles. However, my favourite of theirs is still the volatile Dracula’s Family.
