Wild Flip

The Hannibal Wild can land anywhere apart from Reel 1. Land 2 of them on the same spin to activate the Wild Flip. Each wild that makes up part of a winning combination has a 50% chance of expanding and becoming a full reel wild. The Wild Flip is only active in the base game.

Free Spins

Land 3, 4, 5 or 6 bonus symbols on the same spin, and you’ll win 10, 15, 20 or 25 free spins. Before each free spin, a random number of positions on the bottom row freezes. Keep a special eye for elephant symbols during the free spins, too, as they are sticky, and ignore any reel gaps when making winning combinations.

Also joining the action during the free spins is the Warhorn symbol. Each time one of these lands, all the elephants nudge up one position on their reel before the freezing on the bottom row takes place. If there are fewer than 3 elephants on display, the Warhorn will add more until there are a minimum of 3 in play.

Re-triggers are possible here too. In theory, you could land up to 125 free spins from a single trigger.

The only downside in the feature were the cries from Hannibal to “Move!” and “Charge!” and “I still need you” which has me reaching from the mute button.

There are loads of Roman-themed slots available on UK slot sites, but not many feature their opponents in battle. This one from ‘the other side of the fence’ is rather good. The design is just what you’d expect from the new slots from the Play’N Go stable.

The gameplay is decent, too, taking some classic features and shaking them up a bit to deliver something a little different. The variety in the base game isn’t massive, and I found the Wild Flips to be of limited interest. The game can explode into life during the free spins, though.

The 96.20% RTP stacks up okay, but the 40,000x stake Scourge of Rome max win is a bit of an eye-catcher for a slot from this provider.
