Theme – an Italian chicken vs fox battle

With a farm theme, the Rocco Gallo slot is based on the classic chicken vs fox story. Set in a small Italian village, the story is that the mighty cockerel, Rocco Gallo, rules the roost. Vinnie Volpe (the fox) lurks in the shadows and is ready to pounce and take Rocco’s chicks away from him.

The setting is a beautiful southern Italian village which is colourful and bright. The reels are encased by a traditional market stall. Instant Prize Bonus feature

The Instant Prize Bonus feature is triggered when 3 or more Golden Egg scatter symbols appear anywhere on the reels. This is a streak re-spin style with 3 re-spins initially awarded.

Each symbol position then becomes its own reel. On every re-spin, at least 2 Golden Egg scatters are guaranteed to land. The Golden Eggs contain instant prizes and multipliers. The instant prizes will be 0.5, 1, 2, 5 or 10 x your total bet and the multiplier will be 2x.

When an instant prize lands, it’s accumulated in the Cash Pot. The multiplier is applied to the Cash Pot and subsequently doubled. The Golden Egg is then removed from the reels for the next re-spin.

The Rocco Gallo slot is a well-designed game with a superb Italian twist on the chicken vs fox story. Graphically, it’s colourful, fun and well thought through.

In terms of the gameplay, the base game is pretty basic with no random features as you’ll find in other Play ‘n GO slots. A screen full of the Rocco Gallo wild symbol will lead to 1,000 x bet payouts which is decent.

With just the 1 bonus feature, the Instant Prize Bonus feature is a simple streak re-spins game with instant prizes and multipliers. The Cash Pot element can be lucrative with up to 6,000 x bet up for grabs each time. With a max payout of 10,000 x your total bet, the cocky cockerel can serve up some big wins if Vinnie Volpe doesn’t appear. I did find the feature to go on for quite some time with average wins of just under 100 x bet.

Rocco Gallo is missing additional bonus features though. Free spins would have been nice or more variations in the solitary bonus feature. When it comes to streak respins, Fire in the Hole (Nolimit City), Money Train 2 (Relax Gaming) and Cash Truck (Quickspin) are all better slots with bigger win potential.
