Reactoonz is a Play ‘N Go-powered slot which is played on a 7×7 gird. Available to play from 20p to £100 per spin on desktop, mobile and table devices, your aim is to round up clusters of energetic extra-terrestrials. With an alien theme, it benefits from 7 bonus features including 5 quantum features – the best is the Gargantoon feature where you get 3×3, 2×2 and 1×1 wilds on the reels. It’s highly volatile though!
Visually, Reactoonz takes you to a parallel universe and has a cutesy, alien theme – with cartoon style graphics, symbols on the reels include 4 lower paying aliens, 4 higher paying aliens and a vortex wild. The highest value symbol is the pink alien who gives you 750 times your stake for 5 across a payline. The vortex wild simply replaces all symbols to help form winning combinations.
Reactoonz uses a cascading game engine with symbols dropping down into the 7×7 grid – you can form winning combos when you get 5 or more of the same symbol connected in a cluster (either horizontally or vertically). When you get a win, the contributing symbols are removed with new symbols dropping to fill up the empty spaces in the grid – cascades continue until you no longer get a win but you can win time and time again from every spin.
When you do get a win, you will increase the 5 Quantum Leap charge meters 1 by 1 – when a meter is charge, 1 of the quantum features is added to the queue randomly. Here’s a look at what the features offer:
- Implosion feature – 3 to 6 symbols are transformed into wilds with adjacent symbols also being destroyed
- Alteration feature – 1 random low value symbol is chosen with all instances of that symbol transforming into another symbol. If there’s no low value symbol on the grid, a high value alien will be chosen
- Demotion feature – all instances of low value symbols are destroyed and removed from the gird
- Incision feature – a wild is cut into the centre which then creates 2 intersecting diagonal lines through the grid. This will then display the same randomly chosen symbol
When all 5 charge meters are charged fully, the Gargantoon feature is added to the queue – here, the Gargantoon adds a 3×3 wild randomly on the grid. With each cascade the Gargantoon divides to become two 2×2 wilds. With the next cascade, it divides again into nine 1×1 wilds.
If you don’t get a win here, 1 randomly triggered quantum feature is triggered. During the features, you can charge the charge meters which give you the opportunity to get more quantum features. The charge meters only reset if no more winning combos are formed.
However, the Gargantoon can randomly drop 4 to 8 wild symbols onto the grid if you have a non-winning spin – this is known as the Instability feature. Reactoonz also benefits from a Giantoonz feature – this is played when 4 matching symbols adjacent to each other in square shape (2×2) appear. This will form Giantoonz which means that wins are doubled (i.e. 2x multiplier) in any winning combination.
Finally, there’s a Fluctuation feature – 1 random low value symbol is marked as the fluctuating symbol on each spin. If it’s part of a winning combination, it will leave 2 wilds behind on the grid.
Reactoonz may sound complicated but its rather simple once you get playing – its fast-paced, fun and also very high variance as you win up to 4,570 times your stake on every cascade/spin! The best chance of winning big is to get the high value pink alien prominently on the reels alongside wilds with the Giantoonz feature which applies a 2x multiplier to your outcome.
I really like Reactoonz – it’s not traditional in the slightest which is a good thing but offers lots of action and the potential for out of this world wins if your luck is in. I also recommend you try its prequel, Energoonz. If you like space themed offerings, Playtech’s Space Invaders is recommended.
